First off, Happy Boxing Day to our friends to the north! Anything having to do with boxes is okay by us!
Yesterday was a good day. We just *might* be able to thank everyone who sent us a Christmas card this year. We say *might* because we were floored at the amount of love and good wishes that came via email and the postal service, and thanking everyone will probably take us until April. But we’ll try. Knowing us, we’re certain to forget someone, probably several someones, so our apologies in advance should that happen. Please accept our honest, heart-sent thank you for making this time of year so special for us and our kitties. Thank you!
At final count, the cats received fifty-six cards. That’s probably more cards than we humans have received in the two and a half decades we’ve been together! So, just after midnight and under very close supervision, we opened all the Christmas cards on Christmas day. That’s right, other than email cards, which all were printed out, we didn’t opened a single envelope before the big day. And let’s just say we are sure glad there wasn’t tuna hiding in any of them! There was a very soft patch of fur in one… we’re not saying from whom or what color… just go knowing that is one very loved-upon patch of fur!
But before opening day, the growing pile was enjoyed, rolled around on, drooled on, licked, nibbled, kneaded, pawed, patted, napped upon, and smothered every single day. Some cats picked out one or two favorites, others had several favorites they gravitated to every day, while others simply liked all of them. We’d like to think they loved them all equally and we know they thank you too!
This was our first year officially participating in the card exchange and wow! Yeah, we think we’ll do this again in a heartbeat! We might even find time to post a photo of every single card or maybe create a collage! We had a wonderful time and a wonderful Christmas day looking at and reading all your messages. Again, thank you all! We hope you had a good day too!
