We’re deep in autumn here now and enjoying all our autumn colors. It’s about time we wrapped up our big summer project – having cement poured over what was formerly a root and weed-encased mud pit.

The job had originally been scheduled for early October but had been delayed due to this, that, and the next thing.

But finally, pour day arrived and the workers made quick work of it.

And so did someone else before the cement dried just enough to stamp a slate-look pattern into it. The workers were able to smooth out the cement again before stamping took place but it seemed someone, or several someones were not done walking through it.

All right, who walked through the wet cement? You couldn’t have waited another hour or two? C’mon, ‘fess up! Who’s responsible?

How many paw prints can you find? We guess we’ll never know exactly who all put their marks on our new slate-stamped cement but it seems fitting, with all the kitties and animals that come visit the Colehaus Garden (and wildlife sanctuary), that some of them leave their marks permanently. We know they’ve left their prints on our hearts as well.
