7/8/2026 – Are We Done Yet?

Viola sums up pretty much how we feel about the week so far. The 4th of July was last Saturday. To say it was loud here would be insulting the meaning of the word loud. And through it all, and seemingly every other hour of every day since the 4th of July, when scads of people around our area were discovering that “Oops! I forgot to fire off this lonely firework. Let’s do it NOW!” regardless of whether it was the 5th of July or just this very a.m., the 8th of July, at 2:10 in the morning, Mom thanks all those celebraters for supporting the U.S. economy by blowing up their paychecks.

Viola also might be thinking the same as tired Mom does right about now, “I’ll sleep when I’m dead.” Hopefully, there won’t be any fireworks around then.

  5. mochasmysteriesandmeows says:

People are just crazy. Our town fireworks don’t bother Mudpie, but on the night of the 4th at 2:30 in the morning someone nearby was setting them off. She was terrified!

  6. meowmeowmans says:

We are so sick of the fireworks here, too. Some people are so, so rude.

  7. Isn’t it nice when they finally give it a rest.
