It’s that time of year again, folks, time for the annual Colehaus Cats holiday greeting card attempt. Always a “fun” time – shiny things to bite, chew, and drag away when mom’s not looking. Squinting, yawning, glaring, growling, checking for nose boogers. Why, it’s almost more fun than a unguarded packet of crinkly tissue paper (says from experience)!
We’ll reveal who made this year’s cut on Friday, the 27th of this month on this blog. We might even have printed cards to mail out again this year too. In the meantime, here’s some of our holiday photo shoot blooper adventures. Needless to say, none of these quite made the grade. See if you can figure out why.

This was as close to looking at the camera as Tessa would get. She’s always been more of a “I could pee on that” kind of girl.

Too early in the morning for Quint? Hmmm, the photo shoot was in the afternoon. Maybe that is early morning for our artist.

Oh, sleek and shiny Olivia. Always keeping up her super model appearance, always checking for… well, you know.

Ginger Patrol Sergeant (GPS) Zuzu decided since no permit for these jingle bells existed, she’d have to confiscate them…

… while daughter Viola just went straight for the goods. “Yums!” she said after mom snatched her away from chewable things. “Tastes like a good ol’ plastic Christmas!”

Hoping for something different, something featuring more than one cat since we have eight, proved to not be in the cards this year. Usual photo diva Pia was still visualizing what personality to take on for her glamour shot, while Quint was all for the, “If I close my eyes, you can’t see me” game.
Not interested in the least for this year’s holiday photo shoot were Miss Newton and Ruby. When asked if they would like to participate, Ruby graciously replied, “I’ll pass. I was on the card last year.” Feisty Miss Newton said, “Uh, no? But a lump of coal for Christmas? I might like one of those! Chicken-flavored, please?”
