Mom, why is this protective blue tape still on this door? No one scratches it anymore, meaning you could have removed it eons ago. Why not?

Why does my fur look red in the sun, yet black when not in the sun? Why is that? What, we need another ginger girl in the house?

Why is this rug so big? I look positively dainty and insignificant on such a big rug. What do you say to getting some small rugs so I look bigger?

Why aren’t there black cats roaming around in our backyard? It looks like a jungle out there. Wouldn’t black cats wandering around look great in that jungle? When can we get a panther or two?

It’s beginning to look like the Colehaus Cats facebook page might be dead to us. We can’t log in to cross-post these blog entries without getting the dreaded Too Many Redirects error message. We’ve researched that half to death and after complying with the dozen or more likely “fixes” and talking to WordPress (to make sure it was nothing on our domain end), it seems the only true fix is to start up a new, from scratch Colehaus Cats facebook page and hope the same doesn’t happen. A few people claim they had limited luck with reinstalling Windows, but since the problem isn’t on our end, we’re forced to wait it out to see if it clears up on its own, or give up.

We’re not quitters so we’ll try logging into facebook every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, when we usually cross-post. But we don’t recommend holding your breath. If you do have any suggestions, we’ll gladly take them. We’re all ears!

UPDATE: Mom discovered a fix! By bypassing logging into facebook as usual (yes, we know facebook is supposed to be capitalized – they aren’t getting that from us at the moment), she used facebook.com/home and got in. Then she selected light theme and clicked on go to news feed at the prompt.

This brought up the original Colehaus Cats page that ended in September 2013, weeks before Angel mama Zuzu gave birth to those adorable Niblets. We say ended because facebook was threatening to delete our page because it wasn’t a person’s page, but a pet page which they frowned upon back then. And so, after creating a new Colehaus Cats page just in time for everyone to enjoy those Niblets-to-be, facebook said they had deleted the original page for the not-a-person-page violation. Obviously NOT!

Mom really blasted fb when asked about her experience with the “new facebook beta look.” She was sure 7 years of friendships and shared events were wiped out, and along with some other things, told fb they didn’t have enough tissues for her tears . . . when suddenly, the current Colehaus Cats page popped up.

So, we’ll consider this Too Many Redirects error thing fixed. It is definitely facebook’s servers causing the problem and we hope the countless other people going through this discover this fix.

Thanks for reading through this!

05/18/2020 – Miscellaneous Monday

Some miscellaneous photos for this Monday. Actually, we could file these all under our Cute folder . . . only to have to sort through 9,431,012 cute photos to find these. Can’t have that kind of disorganization and hope to find anything. Or so Mom says.

That kind of disorganization is akin to, say, having a perfect neat and clean counter top. Looks nice until you look closer and find a hairball barf trying to blend into the faux granite-look Formica. We’re also looking at you, Tessa. Mom can identify your barf from 50 paces.

Mom also says organization is key to keeping some kitties happy, like Viola here who sleeps in this very position more often than others during daylight hours because 1) she can peek at her beloved crinkle paper any time she chooses, and 2) the sturdy box edge is perfect for allowing her ears and upper cheek fur to enjoy maximum air flow whilst warmly protecting her nose and lower cheek fur against any brisk breezes that might find their way indoors. You know, just in case a blizzard comes a-knocking.

Sure, some of us might still be observing the Stay-At-Home order, and what a perfect time to try on those fashions you wouldn’t wish to be caught dead wearing! At least, that’s how Viola sees it.
