What the FIDDLESTICKS, Mom??!!?? It’s Friday and it’s Four in the morning!

Mom gets up at four a.m. each Friday to ready herself for her job that starts at 6 a.m. and ends twelve hours later. Ditto both Saturday and Sunday mornings, each shift being twelve hours long. This gives her Monday through Thursday to take Dad to any job interviews, should ANY ever come his way (not a single one yet, not even any call-backs because places seem not to do that anymore. And yes, he’s applying for second-level jobs now).

Mom also says her long work shifts are worth it to keep snuggly-under-the-blankets Pia in the manner of which she’s become accustomed. See you later this evening, Beanster!

Here’s an 80-piece online jigsaw puzzle of Pia under the covers for you, courtesy of JigsawPlanet.com. There’s a lot of white in this one and very little of Pia. It might be a challenge. Have fun!

I’m sorry your dad isn’t getting any job interviews. It’s a scary world out there. We continue to send love and purrs. We’re pretty sure your mom doesn’t like getting up that early either!

  2. Carolyn Kristof says:

Mom says she always knows when it’s fall cause I creep under the covers with her in the morning too. Great minds think alike! Stay toasty my love~
    your D.
pee ess… tell your Dad to hang in there, my Dad faced that situation some couple years ago and is now happier than ever before in his career, and he was almost 60 yrs old at the time.

  3. I agree with Carolyn’s comment; things will work out, but I know how hard it is to keep positive, and to keep motivated! I lost jobs twice during the downturn in 2008-2010 ish, when there was slim pickings. Actually, I’m almost always ready for it to happen again. For as uncertain as this all sounds, something will turn up. It will!

I feel for your pawrents. I was laid off at 59 and couldn’t BUY a job–much less land one. It’s age discrimination but nearly impossible to prove.
