Nope. Sorry, Quint. I’m just grabbing a water bottle. I’ll be in soon.

I’m still waiting, Mom. Are you done yet?
I’ll be back inside shortly, Quint. Wait just a while longer.
Even later,
I don’t think I like this waiting thing. Mom sure is taking a long time out there. Wouldn’t she rather be inside with a snuggly boy like me? I think she would!
Much later,
She’s still outside working and I don’t know when she’ll be inside. I guess that means my job is to lay here and look handsome and keep this blanket from sliding the rest of the way off the couch. Someone’s gotta do it!

Those outdoor jobs in the spring get long and tedious, but if you want a garden, you have to stay out there and do it. I hope she comes in soon.

She did come in eventually, right? Because she loves you. But sometimes Beins have to take care of the yard in daytime. We are sure she was thinking about you the whole time, and happy to get back to you.
