Tessa and Pia like the quiet of bright, red flower fireworks, not the booming loud bangs that have been going on around our neighborhood for weeks. Like past years, we expect a full bed tonight with all the kitties safe under the covers, and a hope for a speedy return to quieter days ahead.

Summer birds have arrived in the backyard of Colehaus. Goldfinches are all a flutter around the feeders and puff ball we hang out to help with building their nests. Tessa has just learned about birds and watches them for hours from inside on one of the windowsills. Between blue jays, hawks, chickadees and pine siskins, we think she and Maxx like the goldfinches best.
Tessa update: Tessa is home from her vet Spay Day and is doing fabulously! Pia Bean and Newton really missed her over her 36-hour stay but after arriving back home, each gave her some space for a day for further recovery. Today, Tessa is back to her rambuncious self, chasing Pia from room-to-room and tackling Newton whenever big sister isn’t looking, which brings us to today’s photo.

Ah, a little peace and quiet up away from the two little squeaky ones. A girl could get used to this.
