Okay, now this is the temperature I like! Viola says as our summer hots have arrived at long last and she for one welcomes them. We’ve gotten used to keeping the air conditioning at 77 degrees F inside and last spring’s mega hassle getting the south facing blinds fixed was worth every agonizing delay. We’re not roasting inside but Viola’s a heat-lover and on these 90 degree days, she’s usually found lying on a south facing window sill. Silly girl.

Enjoy it while you can, little girl, because in three months, some of us will be looking forward to fall’s cooldown. Some of us like these two, one of whom, surprisingly, was not snuggled into his fleecy warm blanket fort for once. Shocking!

Mom says she can count on one hand how many “cooler” end of Julys she’s experienced, including the first time she ever saw snow. That was way up in Rocky Mountain National Park at the end of July back in 1979, and while it didn’t really snow, there was a very, very heavy frost overnight, making everything as white as snow.
No, she doesn’t think she’ll ever see one of those again but the memories are good. Stay cool, friends!

Viola, you and I might not get along too well! We’ve had a few nights in the 50s this week and it’s been heavenly!
You are such cuties. I can’t wait for cooler weather. XO
Some people and pets just like the warms, and I don’t blame them. For me, cold can be painful.
All of you are beautiful.
