Quint Supports the Niblets.

As it turns out, Quint likes the Niblets! We think he’s going to be a wonderful, playful Uncle to Illy, Viola, Robbie and Russell. But while he’s waiting for them to grow big enough to play with, he’s been painting. And we wouldn’t be telling the whole truth if we didn’t mention that sales of his art will certainly help pay for the Niblets’ upcoming vet checkups, first shots and spays/neuters (not to mention Erinn Zuzu’s spay too because the Niblets are definitely her last litter).

Last month Quint created his Touch of Autumn 2013 series that some of you are hopefully enjoying. Quint likes working with different colors and you know how much he loves the color yellow. Good thing Autumn includes yellow leaves which he dabbed on with a light paw on each painting.

And you know he loves oranges and greens. Autumn is a great painting time of year for him and we think he did a good job.

Next, prompted by Oui Oui’s Mom, and help from Mr. Mousie number 197, Quint tackled creating a dark version of his Masters-Inspired Starry Night 8×10 acrylic. This is a heavy art paper version of his Starry Night on 4×4 canvas and the dark twin to the lighter version of the same 8×10 size.

This is the look we get when we take too many pictures while he’s painting. Or maybe because again, his ears were cut out. Okay, Quint, we’ll back off… a bit.

We snuck in one more as he was finishing up with the blue, before he dabbed on the yellow moon.

A finished painting. If you like kitties and you like art, you’d be helping Quint help Erinn and the Niblets by checking out and taking home one of his paintings. Please visit Quint’s Art Shop. Quint, Erinn Zuzu and the Niblets thank you!

Kittens on the Run. Almost.

We keep mentioning how the Niblets seem a bit above the curve when it comes to weight and development. What parents wouldn’t think their children are ‘geniuses’ when compared against generalized guidelines? Well, the Niblets let us in on another over-achiever secret last night: Already, they want more room!

Yep, they’ve started walking. Already the boys, Robbie and Russell, have it nearly mastered. And Illy’s been trying to get out of the nursing box for days. Sweet Viola agrees that’s a good idea.

We Colehaus folks don’t live in a big house. Sure, big enough for all the Colehaus Cats to have their own favorite spots, but we don’t have a lot of bedrooms and we’re not really set up for fostering kittens, unless… some someones were to give up their seldom used room for say… six-to-eight weeks.

Wave a temporary good bye to the Colehaus Cat Den and say hello to the Colehaus Bouncy Room of Kittens which, if you didn’t know or remember, has its own 24/7 webcam!

For the next six-to-eight weeks, Erinn Zuzu and the Niblets will experience the ultimate in secluded, private room luxury with 24-hour room service, pampering and cleaning. Within, Erinn Zuzu will find a heated window seat amongst the trees with Bird and Squirrel TV, lots of extra storage to keep most of those needy kitten items close at hand and spacious um,… space to stretch out well beyond her cramped gated community living, not to mention room for her Niblets to learn to run and play.

What mother wouldn’t jump at the chance to have all that? We can only hope to have all that for ourselves someday! 😉

Don’t worry about the other kitties. Already, Tessa, Pia, Olivia, Quint and Miss Newton agree the move of their water fountain and food into the library where mom works is a great idea (and the sound of flowing water nearby is relaxing). The cat tower newly placed at the end of the hall was a hit within minutes of relocation. The cat boxes at the other end of the hall… well, it’s only for six-to-eight weeks. We’ll deal with it.

In the master bedroom, or should we say, Maxx and Ruby’s room, life can return to normal. No more worry about Erinn’s tension over Maxx and Ruby’s presence.

Look for this exciting change coming very, very soon! (And by soon, we mean as soon as mom and dad get busy cleaning and sterilizing the new kitten room.)

Ruby Tuesday.

So interested in the sounds and small mews of the Niblets and wise enough not to interfere, Ruby watches from afar. “I was that young once,” she says wistfully.

One week individual Niblet photos are here!

Dark Illy Niblet doesn’t have her eyes open yet. She’s sticking to our guideline book that says eyes open between eight and twelve days. Can’t wait to see her peepers! Can’t wait to see how her Tortie coloring develops!

Sweet, little Viola, the smallest Niblet, was the first to open her eyes. She’s also the calmest Niblet and likes her spotted tummy tickled. Originally, we thought she had a bobtail nubbin like mama Erinn Zuzu, but we can see now Viola has no tail nubbin at all. She’s a manx!

Soft gray Tabby Robbie Niblet has a bobtail nubbin just like mama Erinn Zuzu. He’s the loudest of the bunch whenever he’s picked up for his daily weigh-in, but he’s the first one to greet us when we’re doling out pets. Call him the Niblet ambassador.

Russell Niblet, the biggest and second loudest Niblet, may well be a photo ham in the making if his pose here is any indication. Russell, the orange Tabby boy, is a solid kitten and we predict he’ll be the first to reach the one pound mark, though sister Illy won’t be too far behind.
