
. . . and that toy doesn’t belong to this cat. This catnip toy, although somewhat flat and nearly empty of catnip, is Viola’s toy. Or is it? Technically, any toy in this house could belong to anyone, Mom and Dad included (as if we’d want to see Mom rolling about on the floor with this sad toy), or any toy could belong to no one. It’s more a matter of finder’s keepers, isn’t it?
No one was guarding it, Tessa would say. And she’d go on to add, I’m crouched over it, not even touching it, so how could someone accuse me of taking someone’s toy?
All good points, Tessa. We won’t add that a mere 5 minutes later, you were slobbering all over it. It was a soggy mess. And yet we know, if there’s no photos, it didn’t happen. Mom, you took that camera downstairs too soon!
