Before Christmas (she’s still trying to catch up), Mom meant to let her fingers skip over the keyboard and let Santa know we cats needed a few things. Nothing fancy…

Okay, that was a itsy-bitsy fib. We wanted all the fancy things! We NEED the fancy things! After all, we survived the Niblets, and we were darlings during all that! Darlings deserve the best! Right?

Mmm, well, anyhoo, the Dad had a cold and he gave it to Mom to share and her fingers didn’t do any shopping for the holidays due to that. But JOY! Last week she made up for lost time! See that cool castle tower we got from The Refined Feline? It’s GIANT! Mom says it’s five feet tall and it has three levels. Sure, it’s just heavy cardboard but it’s surviving Tessa’s scratching and Viola’s biting without any problems. We love it!

And sometimes… it does MAGIC things!

That’s one L-O-N-G kitty! MOL! Mom says the Kitty Castle Towers are on sale now!

Another thing we now have to play with is a Neko Fly! Finally, we convinced Dad that this is the best wand toy ever! No offense to Da Bird, but c’mon. It’s a Neko Fly!

Naturally, we have to let the kitten hog the Kragonfly. Dad insists we share. We’d ‘share’ really well if we each had a Kragonfly, Dad!

And Mom’s been threatening to get us a different water fountain to free us from the big silver metal beast that spits water irregularly (despite her regular cleanings, she’ll assure you). So we got a white ceramic pagoda-style fountain that most of us really like. Miss Newton, the old-school fan she is, prefers the tall glass bowl, but she’ll come around sooner or later.

We also got a Trap-A-Cat box that Mom won for us way before Christmas but she’s still recovering those photos that got lost somehow when she had her cold. We think it was fuzzy head syndrome. We’ll hound her night and day to find them and get them posted ASAP! And then, she might even be caught up!

Forgive us for the quality of these photos. This is all we have of our first bobtail kitty, the first boy kitten we picked out together back in 1989.

We weren’t terribly original with his name – Bob, it was, but we loved him fiercely. His terribly short life taught us never to trust those big name pet stores and the importance of adoption over sales.

Though it’s been so many, many years, we’ll never forget you, Bob.

A short flashback to… yesterday! Zuzu is healing well from her spay surgery over the weekend. She’s quieter and not getting up in everyone’s grill like she used to. And she hugs daughter Viola a lot now. We like the more mellow Zuzu, but that’s not to say she doesn’t still rip it up pretty good when she gets to playing! We love these bobtail girls!

Miss Newton wonders: Why won’t Dad let me into his office? It’s the only place I want to be as long as Dad is in there. I think I’d make a great ripping and shredding office cat! What’s an office without a cat? A cat-less office is what it is and that’s just wrong. Mom, don’t you think that’s wrong? Why would anyone even have such a thing? Quint asks: Why can’t our food taste like Greenies treats? Why can’t all food taste like Greenies treats? That’s the best flavor ever invented. Surely, everyone knows this. There’s no need to advertise this or that food flavor. Who needs savory salmon, beefy burger or Hawaiian pizza when they can have Greenies? Why not cut to the chase and make everything taste like Greenies? Roasted Chicken flavor, in particular if you must know because I must put the bitey to the birds. Speaking of which, isn’t it time for another treat? Have I mentioned Greenies lately?

Tessa demands to know: Why does that little cat have to get her smell on everything? I can’t take two steps in this house without that… that… that walking peanut’s smell here, there, everywhere! It’s just wrong and I want to know why it has to be that way. I’m waiting.
