Our friend, Joan, has been a collector of Quint’s art from the beginning and she graciously shares photos of the most incredible picture frames she finds for his art. We’re a little embarrassed to admit we don’t have a single one of Quint’s paintings framed and hung, though that’s not for lack of trying. Let’s just say IKEA makes great, clean-lined, although a bit boring, photo frames, and we have a knack for always purchasing the wrong size. Or the one with a side coming apart. Or with broken glass. Or is crooked. Or… or… or…

Beautiful Frame from our friend Joan – 2016 © Colehauscats.com
Joan found Rustic Springs, a wonderful shop located in Ocean Springs, Mississippi that specializes in beautifully custom-made picture frames. Business owners John, with his wife Mary, have been woodworking for 20-plus years and in 2010, realized their dream of starting their own business through Esty.
We are thrilled and honored to be gifted a beautiful, custom-color Rustic Springs picture frame from Joan. Now, this is a picture frame you could only wish everyone would make! Beautifully hand-crafted! The hard part was figuring out which piece of Quint art to mount in it. Quint’s Starry Night looks amazing, the blue-over-black color in the frame matches perfectly to Quint’s blue-on-black Starry Night colors. In the end, we chose Quint’s most current winter painting, Winter Ombré 2016. Again, the custom blue in the frame plays wonderfully off the blue in his painting, making it appear as though the painting was created specifically to match the frame. Simply gorgeous!

Quint is very hands-on… er, paws-on when it comes to offering thanks to his friends and fans, choosing to be a part of the process whether it be paw-tographing a custom piece of art or special card, or sitting for a photo with a gift or donation piece. He gave Joan’s frame a good sniffing of approval (Quint’s Sniff of Approval – QSoA™), and sat posed for a number of photos; one we hoped to include with our thank you.
Sixty-some photos later, we got one shot and still, we had to photo-shop someone else’s tail out. Seems a couple of someones wanted to be in the picture, because, you know, if Quint deems something good, it’s definitely worth risking getting in the way of Mom’s camera!

Again, we are thrilled to have a truly beautiful frame to display one of Quint’s paintings. Thank you, Joan, for thinking of us and sharing with us your incredible finds.
