Olivia’s taking the extra Fall-Back Daylight “Saving” Time seriously. She demands not to be bothered for at least one extra full hour.
Once again, we ask, “Daylight Saving Time. And the point would be…what, exactly? Weren’t we going to get rid of this nonsense?”
This whole thing seems so silly to those who did not grow up with it. Yes, there are some states in the U.S. who do not change their clocks back or ahead and to those residents, to do so seems ridiculous. As Mom says (far too often), you all have messed with your clocks so much, does anyone really know what time it is?
That said, Mom also says she truly enjoys getting one extra hour of sleep each fall. And she swears that come March 10th of next year, when we all are forced to jump ahead one hour, she’s taking the day off work. Maybe even two!
We’ll believe that when we see it.

. . . when Mom comes home from a long day at work, she hopes the back blinds are NOT open, because when they are, Mr. G. sits there and looks longingly inside. Again, no, we can’t take Mr. G. in. He cannot become a Colehaus Cat. He has a perfectly good, albeit a very noisy, kid-filled home just a mere 100 cat steps or so away.
Still, this adorable face.
And just about the time anyone (you included) thinks, “Well, maybe there’s an outside chance . . . “, Tessa will remind you to wipe that thought from your head this very instant.

Less than five minutes after Mom arrived home, moments after taking Mr. Gs photo, Tessa stomped into the room, took one look at Mr. G. at the door, let loose a screech we’re certain the neighbors heard, and then, threw herself at the glass door. We’re pretty certain it wasn’t love.
So, let’s be clear. Tessa insists NO, Mr. G. will not come into this house, nor will become anything other than an outside visitor at Colehaus. And Mom set down the rule about keeping those door blinds closed.
