It’s been a long time since we had a Patrol Sergeant here at Colehaus, and yes, shenanigans and mayhem have had run of the roost for far too long.
We’ve been looking for the signs that someone might step up and be a good Patrol Sergeant fit and it would seem the apple didn’t fall far from the tree. Angel Zuzu, Viola’s mama, was a good, reasonable Patrol Sergeant until she retired and Angel Sunny took over the role. Viola has shown signs of interest particularly when someone makes a loud noise somewhere in the house or whenever Tessa and Quint get into a tussle. Viola is all ears and rushes to the scene immediately. She’s always aware, curious and most importantly, doesn’t play favorites. Except when it comes to toys.

Mom, did you hear that? It sounded like . . . a toy.
Oh really? You have a toy right there. Is it talking to you?
Don’t be silly. Toys don’t talk. Not this one anyway. Shh! There it is again, did you hear that?

I think you might be hearing things, Viola.
I don’t think so. I think my favorite toy needs me to take a nap and said so. There’s little I like better than a toy that speaks its mind.
I thought you said toys don’t speak, and what’s this about liking little better than a toy? I thought you liked food, snacks, brushings, combings . . .

And don’t forget naps. Naps with toys are even better. My toy said so.
We may need to keep thinking about assigning that Patrol Sergeant role.

Of course your toy was talking to you, Viola, everyone knows they do that!
Where can I find a toy that tells me to take a nap? MOL
Awww..Viola, I am glad you take such good care of that toy. XO
Maybe she’s more like the hall monitor.
Well, this old girl doesn’t need a toy to tell her when to take a nap. and don’t get me started on loud noises. Every little ding, honk, beep, siren, doorbell, chime- you name it- perks my ears right up and opens my eyes wider than my whole head like we’re all in danger.
Viola, we’re pretty sure toys DO talk. At least that’s what Ava and Target tell us.
