Viola helps us welcome October at long last. We’re fans of October, well, the 2nd half mostly when cooler weather, misty fog and the crisp smell of apples and wood smoke greet us each day. The 1st half of the month is much like September with the only exception being dusk comes earlier and the leaves think about turning color.
It’s this time of year when Mom remembers, as a young adult, visiting the state fair each year alone, where she once lived and looking forward to eating caramel apples and walking through the farm animal/agriculture/quilt buildings. Even now, some three decades later, she still thinks of that time of her life, when attendance to get into the fair cost just three dollars and those caramel apples were a buck. She saved hard earned dollars for months to go every October and she’s certain she’ll never forget those visits.
On the other hand,
. . . Viola remembers to include a favorite toy with Mom’s autumn-y decor because why not? We love that she’s never too far from her favorite green toy.
So, welcome October. We’re all happy to see you come along at last!
