Allegedly, my Mom stated last week that I didn’t like wet food. I guess there’s no allegedly about that statement. I don’t like wet food and have no intention of ever eating wet food. My Mom says if things came to it, she would hand-feed me and it most certainly would be wet food.

I take exception to that. And then she let it be known that would probably involve her putting her fingers in my mouth. Ewww! Who knows where her fingers have been? I mean, I’ve seen her pet other cats! I cringe when thinking more about this and I’m even more determined not to switch over to the wet food side. Nothing anyone says will change my mind. And I’m a very strong willed cat!

So, I spent the rest of the day snubbing Mom and napping in one of my quieter sleep spots. And, you know, Mom didn’t come looking for me all day. I’ll admit, I kind of felt snubbed right back. Surely, my Mom’s not going to hold such a silly thing against me, would she?

I found her sitting on the couch, not crying over me not wanting to eat wet food, but quietly reading a book (not about cats, either). And I said to her, “Hey Mom, what’s up?” And she said she was just sitting there enjoying some quiet time while I was napping.

So, see? She knew I was napping, meaning she did come in to check on me, even though I was snubbing her in the meantime. She was basically waiting for me to wake up! I don’t really think my Mom would stick her fingers in my mouth with yucky wet food. She cares about me!

People can be funny sometimes. But then again, you already knew that Pia, right?

  3. Pia, you are so beautiful!
Your mom knows you so well, and she loves you just the way you are.
By the way, what book was she reading? I’m always looking for book recommendations, even non-cat ones…but don’t tell anyone that.

  4. Dexter Kristof says:

Awww, my little bean… we all love you! Me especially! If mom needs someone to give wet food, I will take that bullet for you (om nom nom nom).
All my love my sweet ginger princess… love from your D.

  5. catscue says:

Sweet and lovely Pia, you eat whatever you want, just make sure you drink extra water if you don’t like wet food – we don’t want a dehydrated Pia girl!

  6. 15andmeowing says:

We know your mom loves you. XO

  7. Brian says:

Just so you eat, that’s all that matters cause it’s important!

  8. A lovely princess such as yourself should eat anything she wants. And not eat anything she doesn’t want. Just drink lots of water with your dry food and you’ll be good. Oh – what about squeezy treats? They’re kinda wet but really tasty. Maybe you’d like those.

  9. Memories of Eric and Flynn says:

So what if dried food suddenly disappeared worldwide, would you force yourself to eat wet food then, Pia?

  10. Summer says:

Pia, just hope you never go off your food. I think all bets would be off concerning wet food and your human’s germy fingers then!

  11. Mudpie feels the exact same way about wet food…BLECH!!!

  12. meowmeowmans says:

Well, you just keep on eating, Pia. And drinking water!

  13. Pia, wet food is da bomb! It’s all I eat!! ~Ernie

  14. Timmy Tomcat says:

We were all dry kibble heads at our House and when Angel Buddy Budd came we had to switch to wet because he was a BIG FELLOW and needed to lose a bit. It is actually pretty good if you give it a chance. Only Buddy held out and it too a few months to have him come around. Dad started feeding my his dry with wet mixed in and slowly changed to all wet. Did I mention it took months
