Tessa’s Flowers.

Last year, we were waxing on about getting a Tuxedo cat for what seemed like the longest time. Then, we changed our minds. A week later, a couple of young girls brought a squirming gray and white Tuxedo kitten to our door and asked if we could care for it. We couldn’t have been more thrilled! That kitten has turned into a joy; a wild, fun, always-on-our-toes, always-in-trouble, danger cat joy named Tessa.

Today, one of those girls, the one who came and visited Tessa from time to time, told us her family was moving away and she wished to visit Tessa one last time. In thanks, she brought us roses and a sweet note wishing Tessa all the best. Tessa immediately shared a few of her flowers with her visiting friend, because she’s nice that way.

Stop laughing! Tessa can be nice….sometimes. The point is she was nice today!

We’ll miss our little friend and hope the very best for her too wherever she goes.

Then it was time to sniff flowers. Tessa couldn’t get enough of the rose whiffies and mentioned that no one had ever given her flowers before.

And then everyone wanted to sniff her flowers.

…which turned into the tasting of the flowers.

Quint, don’t eat that!! Were you eating Tessa’s flowers?

Uh, no, Mom. I’m *mmm* um, *mmmmm* just putting my lips this green part.

No worries! Tessa’s flowers are residing in a safe spot out of reach and out of sight of certain kitties who felt the need to um, put their lips and teeth on them. And Tessa, well, she’s forgotten them already and is off figuring out what other kind of danger she can get herself into.

  6. Hey Tessa….you’re really lucky to get such beautiful flowers. Of course you’re even luckier to have such a wonderful forever home. You are obviously very special. Our Mom won’t let us play with flowers ‘cuz she knows we’ll try to eat them and of course we pull them out of the water and make messes. At least you got to play with your flowers for a little bit. What a neat surprise for everyone! 🙂

  7. What a sweet young lady to look in on Tessa and then to bring her the flowers. Every kitty likes to have admirers. We sometimes get a little naught and put our lips and teethes on the flowers but not as a group event. What fun for all! Any of the neighborhood children who brought me cats through the years always visited, at least until it wasn’t cool anymore. Glad Tessa had a nice moment and shared–it looks like a good smell was had by all!
