Monday morning and it’s time we check Miss Newton’s tail. She’s a late sleeper so we know exactly where she’s at: In the same place she is every morning, in the same spot in the Cat Den, laying in the same position, giving us the same look, day in and day out. We bet you thought she was all niceness, pink posies and glitter, huh? Well, she’s got spunk, that Miss Newton does.
“Good morning, Miss Newton. We know your tail is feeling better after Ruby bit it last week. We’d like to see it for ourselves.”
No.
“Oh, c’mon.”
No.
“Please?”
If you know it’s feeling better, leave it at that. You don’t need to see it.
“We just want to check it.”
Check it for what? It’s still there. It feels better. Do you have my missing fur?
“Uh, no. We’re sorry about that. If you recall, you didn’t seem to mind having it removed at the time.”
I recall nothing of the sort. Besides, you have that flashy box thing and I won’t have my naked tail splayed all over the Internets for all to see and mock.
*mumbling* “A little late for that…”
A little later: Miss Newton’s tail is healing just fine. She’s off her medication for the injury. Now comes the waiting part. If only we had a rapid fur growth potion!
