Dear Erinn Zuzu and Viola Niblet,
This is our last Niblet letter. How quickly the last twelve weeks have passed. We’ll admit there were times we thought this day would never come. But mostly, we dreaded its arrival. And if we could have stopped time, we would have, to spend another moment with all of you. From a roly-poly mama with her teensie-tiny furball kittens, Erinn Zuzu, Viola, you are all who are left of the Niblets. Illy and Winter have gone to their forever home together and we wish them well. We bet they’re tickled pink over the wonderful life that lies ahead of them.

Erinn Zuzu, our foster mama who came to us in early September already large and full of babies and yet, with surprises of her own as to when they would arrive.

Just as precious to the character George Bailey in “It’s a Wonderful Life,” was his youngest daughter, Zuzu, you will always be as precious to us. To us, you are a ginger princess, our gingersnap mama, our Zuzu, just Zuzu without the ‘Erinn’ part, and your Niblets as precious as Zuzu’s petals who were kept for safe keeping until it was time to fly with the wind to wonderful homes with families who have promised to love them forever as we did.

Viola, the littlest Niblet, you are trying so hard to make us love you. Every day with you is a treat! How you greet us with your wide eyes and tiny meows, how you seek us out and love to be held and pet. Do you know we’ve loved you for a very long time? Your beautiful ticked tabby fur and your stubby behind make us think of something wild, a sweet bunny from the fields come to romp at our feet, climb into our laps and quietly gaze into our eyes. You have had our hearts from the beginning and we cannot bear to let you or your mama go.
Zuzu and Viola, will you let us love you forever? We know there are a lot of other cats here but we know you will fit in. It might take a little time for everything to be perfect but we’re more than willing to work at it if you are. Will you be ours? Will you be the last of our Colehaus Cats and make our family complete?
The papers have been drawn up and now, you are ours and we are yours. We suspect you already had that in mind and that is just fine with us. May you never tire of our millions of kisses, Zuzu and Viola. Welcome to our family.
All our love forever and ever,
your Mom and Dad
