Olivia here, reporting all the news that is the news. So… where to begin, where to begin… Mom’s been absent around here a lot lately. You may or may not have noticed. She tries hard to make everything here run smooth and seamless whether’s she here or not. And most of the time, that works.
Anyway, she had been a volunteer for a convention events group for over five years and she really liked it. Of course, that took her out of town for holiday weekends and less mom meant less attention for me! She said she looked forward to wrapping up a department she headed up that whole time and boy, was I ever happy to hear that!

And then, for reasons, it all seemed to fall apart about a month ago when she started to be bullied on her non-kitty Facebook page for sticking up for friends who were being bullied themselves. Things turned ugly she said, and I tried to sympathize but I’m not sure what ugly is. I’m beautiful and my sisters are beautiful and my brothers too and where we live and… I could go on and on. But mom was very sad and was convinced all her years of hard work were ruined.
Then, after her last event was over, mom decided to have major dental surgery to fix a long, bothersome problem and boy, did her face ever swell up bigger than a jumbo-sized bag full of Greenies treats! And almost as colorful! And then dad started not feeling so great and well, I knew then just what I needed to do! With everyone feeling so down, it’s time for Olivia’s Super Motivational Tips!

I worked hard to help keep our room clean and I hardly shedded any fur at all so that sucky monster wouldn’t have to come out of the closet. Just look at how clean that floor is! I would almost eat off it!

I did my best to strike cute poses day after day to make dad smile (when I really wanted to hear him laugh).

I kept showing mom, by example, how she needed to take it easy, calm down, and relax…

… even if it meant keeping one eye open to watch out for mean people.

Don’t let it get you down – 2014 © Colehaus Cats
… to not let silly things done by those mean people get you down…

Keep looking up – 2014 © Colehaus Cats
… and to always keep looking up because things can and will only get better!

Climb above it all – 2014 © Colehaus Cats
… and when people do and say terrible things, climb above it all. Let the dirt drift downward where all grit and muck belong.

Try new things – 2014 © Colehaus Cats
Don’t let anyone stop you from trying new things. Crazy things even!

Mom will feel better in about two weeks, she says, and dad is feeling better every day. Above all this, I want them to remember that I, Olivia, am here waiting for brushies and snuggle time. Because isn’t everything better after a long kitty snuggle? Mmmm, I think so too!
