A Theory with Mancat Maxx.

I’ve been thinking a lot about my baby sister Viola, otherwise known around these parts as “The Squirt.” I mean, it’s hard not to think about her. She’s into EVERYTHING!

As I was saying, she get a lot of attention for all the trouble she gets into; I say trouble because if I climbed the curtains, I don’t think anyone would scoop me up to shower with kisses. I’m looking at you, mom.

So it stands to reason it’s her lack of a tail. No tail clearly equals extra attention. I thought I’d test this new theory.

Here I am, the new Maxx, sans tail. I’m waiting for my shower of kisses.

Waiting.

Still waiting.

Any minute now the kisses will begin.

I’m sure of it.

Hmmm, shot that theory all to pieces. Maybe going tail-less was too much of a shock. How about a short tail. Not my usual Maxx tail, but shorter. You know, cuter. Surely, kisses will be forthcoming.

Soon perhaps.

Today, even.

Mom! You’re wrecking my theory!*

Hey-Ho! It’s me, Viola! It’s been a while since we last talked so let me fill you in on all the things a kitten gets to do around here.

Wait a second. First I have to jump because I’m here and that’s there and I’m always on the move. Jumping is fun!

Part of my day is for seriousness, like reading. Mom says I should read a little every day. My favorite is Cat Blogosphere because, well… cats!

Too much reading makes me sleepy. So does sunshine. What better combination is there than nap time and sunpuddles? None, I say! Sunshiny napping is awesome!

Sniffing is awesome too. I bet I sniff approximately eleventy hundred times a day. There’s always something good to sniff around here. Well, mostly good sniffs. I’m not a tattletale so you didn’t hear it from me that someone whose name contains a “T” can be pretty stinky from time to time.

Though I can be independent, mostly, I like to be cuddled every single day. A lot, even. So c’mere, you. Give us a hug!

Deep Afternoon Thoughts.

Today I’m pondering. We’re a pondering bunch here if you didn’t know. A girl can never ponder enough, I say. So much to ponder. Like, can I plan to be spontaneous? Why do people sing “Take me out to the ball game” when they are already there? How far east can I go before I’m heading west? Would a fly without wings be called a walk? When does it stop being partly cloudy and start being partly sunny? If a bunch of cats jump on top of each other, is it still called a dog pile? Why is tuna sometimes called “tuna fish” when chicken is never called “chicken bird?”

And here’s a good one: Can you “stare off into space” when you’re in space? Hmm, so much to think about…
