No, I insist!
Silly mom was trying to tell me she didn’t have time for me right this minute. Yeah, right…

Don’t worry, my sweetest Ginger Prince D. I really, really, REALLY like these slippers, but I love you! Wanna share slipper whiffies? They’ve been outside and everything!
Love and kisses to you on Valentine’s Day,
your lil’ bean

Thank you all very much for your comments and words of comfort on Maxx’s passing Wednesday. We’ve read every single one and are holding them all close to our hearts. We’re still working on adjusting to his absence so we’re going to take next Monday off to collect ourselves a bit more but we’ll be back with Ruby for Ruby Tuesday on February 17th. This Valentine’s Day weekend, please give those you love an extra hug, an extra kiss, and tell them how much you appreciate them. That’d be a great way to honor Maxx and he would like that.
Whoa! Who’s that handsome boy?
Hey! Who’s that handsome boy? *snickers* That was me!
My Internet pals, I hadn’t been feeling my usual feisty, bitey self lately and last week, I decided my mom was the best one to tell. She’s got that cat-feeling mojo thing and knows when we eat, when and how much we drink, when, where, and how much we um, use the facilities… I know, too much sharing. But my mom, she knew something was up and though I didn’t want to say much knowing that could get me a trip to you know where… Yep, the V-E-T… I couldn’t hide my discomfort much longer.
So, off we went early the other morning when it was raining cats upon cats and the vet made me stick out my tongue and took some bloods and made me lay on a mat while this big thing made whirring sounds over me, and all the while, I was feeling worse and worse. After I got home, I wanted to feel better but I just didn’t.
Much later, my mom noticed tinges of blood in my drool. Dang it, drool! You gave part of my condition away! But I didn’t care. I knew my time here with my family was coming to a end and as strange as that might sound, I was okay with that.
My life here since being found had been terrific! I had kisses and treats, toys and warm, snuggly places to sleep, all kinds of good attentions, and I had friends who sadly, I didn’t tell how much I enjoyed their company before their own times were up. Like I said, I was feisty!
I’m going to make that up to every one of them today… Just as soon as I can convince my mom and dad that they did everything right and though I’ll miss them, it’s okay. We’ll all be together again someday, and when that time comes, I’ll try extra hard not to nip them. But I might, just a little, for old time’s sake.
Thanks for the years of good thoughts, all. Until we meet again…
Our dear Maxx, our Maxx Blue Eyes named for his clear blue peepers, our Maximilian Monkeybars named for the way he loved climbing our dining room chairs, our Little Max Black Feet named for his coal-black toes, passed in comfort today with both of us, our favorite vet in attendance, and his favorite toy, his Busy Bee, at his side. Thank you, sweetheart, for finding us and trusting us. You’ll never be forgotten and yes, until we all meet again.
