Good-bye summer leaves. Hello fall leaves!
I like this time of year because, as you can see in my furs, I’m an Autumn girl!
Our long dry summer is over and let me tell you, I was one bored Mancat during all that time. For months, everything was the same – too sunny, too bright, too dry, too hot, too much dirt smells in the air. Where’s the green leafy smell I love?
Nothing was interesting. Toys weren’t interesting, my usual Kitten TV didn’t seem terribly interesting.
I tried entertaining myself by acting goofy. That sometimes works.
But not that day. So I climbed into one of my hideouts to wait for our summer to go away.
And then I remembered something I like to do, something I haven’t done in a while! Why didn’t I think of this before?
I know you’ve already seen this picture. This was the day I remembered what wasn’t boring. I let my mom know right away what that something was and she was extra speedy in setting up my paint studio.
Of course, my mom just had to bring her camera in with us. I was hoping she’d leave that darn thing some place else. Do not like the camera while working, mom! You know this!
Other than mom trying to take photos, which I am happy to report, she mostly failed at (Win!), I had a good afternoon painting and I painted the next day and the next day too. I had a paintin’ palooza good time!
After a couple of days of getting my head (and paws) back into creating art, I worked with some soft colors (mom’s always trying to get me to do that)…
… and then, remembering the last walk I had in the garden before it got so hot, I played in the strong colors I love. Dipping and stepping, dipping and stepping, I was squashing the last bit of summer out and away and I was more than happy to do it. I mean, someone had to!
So there you have it. That’s my summer wrap up. It was long and hot but now it’s not. I remembered how much I love painting and I hope you like seeing what I do. You’re welcome to check out more of my work in my art shop anytime. Maybe you’d like one for yourself! We can do that!
Most of the green papers from my sales goes to help offset the cost of sick or hurt kitties whose humans would otherwise have to make the terrible decision to euthanize. This year alone, sales from my paintings have raised three hundred green papers for this cause and over two hundred for a very special cause last February. Sometimes I think people like my paintings and want to help just as much as I do. Thank you for that, thank you for checking out my art, and thank YOU for hanging in there with this extra long post!
Love and purrs,
Quint
A day with our danger cat, Tessa and her very binary moods.
She’s on! As she springs from her slumber, ready to grab the day where it’s the most easily manipulated and show it who is boss.
But we must remember that everybody needs some down time.
That’s right, don’t expect me to be on all the time! In fact … this looks .. like a good .. spot….
And just that quickly, she’s off. But it’s not long for her to return to…
*SNORT* Um, what were you talking about?
And in no time, she’s back on and ready to once again threaten influence the world to do her bidding…at least for a little while longer.
What? What do you want from me? I can’t influence 24 hours a day!!!
