07/25/2016 – ManCat Monday: Quint’s Summer Flowers
Hi! Today, I’m looking out at my garden, at all the pretty flowers, and wondering if it’s a bad thing we haven’t had a real summer yet when everyone else around the U.S. seems to be hot and sweaty. Like my Dad, I’m not a fan of super hot weather, but I like a good warm sun puddle every bit as much as the next handsome ManCat. We just haven’t had too many of those here so far this year.
So, while I wait for the hots, and my Mom said, Yes, the hots are on their way,” here’s a sneak peek at the summer flowers I admired from out of my garden yesterday. Like all flowers, these are for looking at and NOT for sampling. I know that!
Mom brought these in for me to check out, you know, for studying color and shape, size and variety, like I like to do. Daylilies are so bold that way. I see Mom snuck a little daisy or two in there to mix things up. I’m good with that.
Because these are the flowers I think I’m going to paint next, I wanted to get close and take them all in with my artist senses. And even though they are not as bright and sunny as my usual summer flowers, yeah, I like them. I’m going to paint them.
Look for my new paintings next week at my Art Shop and let me know what you think. Or you could tell my Mom and she’ll tell me. She’s a good Mom that way.
Have a good Monday!
07/22/2016 – Friday Flashback with Tessa
In the spring of 2012, we considered looking for a tuxedo cat to add to our family, probably a kitten (we were open to adults, even senior adults). But life issues got in the way, like they sometimes do, and we nixed the idea completely.
Two weeks later, two girls showed up on our doorstep and asked if we could take in this little bunch of energy.
Baby Tessa’s first official photo. Soon after, she showed us how silly we were to think we’d hang drapes on the French doors.
She was a bundle of joy, of bounciness, and of cute. And she loved toys (still does)!
Ah, the cute was very strong with this one. And she knew it, like all kittens do.
Baby Tessa’s first windowsill. Seeing the big outdoors from this high up didn’t phase her in the least (a fondness of that we would soon discover).
This little gray and white tuxie girl, this special one who keeps us on our toes…
… we couldn’t imagine life without her.
“Hold your applause, folks. I know I’m special.”
