02/24/2020 – M is for Monday

I am NOT doing what you might think I’m doing. Mom simply caught me in an odd pose. I was jumping, I swear, from the back of the couch to the arm. I can’t help it if Mom clicks her camera at the most inopportune, the most embarrassing times! This is not the Mayhem Mom claims it to be!

Ordinarily, I’m the most Magnificent cat here, not that I’m ordinary. Simply Magnificent. Why, I’m a refreshing, yet classic grey and white Tuxedo girl in this beige-on-beige world in which I live.

Not only am I Magnificent, I’m Majestic. Don’t listen to that floofy orange sister of mine, the one who calls herself a Princess. We all know who the real Major personality is here of the highest Magnitude!

Just take a look at me. LOOK AT ME! I’m one Mighty fine looking girl if I do say so myself!

Okay, enough of Me, for the moment. *waves paw* You can go about your Monday.

02/21/2020 – A Different Friday

Today is different. Sure, it’s Friday, that part’s the same, but today, Mom’s home. Usually, we have all day Friday to ourselves to do whatever we cats want to do. Sometimes we play, sometimes we nap, sometimes we fight, often we nap. Occasionally, we do stuff like vacuum the floors and clean out our litter boxes, you know, to help pull our own weight around here.

Okay, yeah, that was a fib. I’m just not saying which part was a fib. Ha!

What’s different is that Mom’s job ended overtime this week, meaning Mom’s home all day Friday. Unless she finds a second job, she says she plans on doing stuff around our house that has been neglected. I don’t know, everything looks good to me. I mean, we’ve been doing all that vacuuming, don’t you know. That’s got to count for something, right?

Anyway, she says the first thing on her list is to take more cat pictures. How exactly that’s different from every other week when she’s taking cat pictures I’m not sure, but I am sure that somehow, that’ll interfere with all that napping I should be doing, er, I mean CLEANING, I meant to say cleaning I need to be doing!

And then, almost as fast as I was telling you about all this, Mom’s job reinstated overtime and then some. So, I guess I’ll get back to all that vacuuming I have lined up to do because someone has to do it.

02/19/2020 – Things on Cats, The Fish Episode

It all started with Olivia’s trout, the one she carries around the house at night, and continues with the toy Christmas Bass, or as we think of it now as The Perch, for reasons that will be made clear shortly.

Any of you who know and can identify fish are welcome to weigh in here. It’s a pretty thing, about eight inches long with dark tail and fins. Too fat to be a sunfish. Oh, let’s just all call it a Perch.

Olivia’s trout is a big toy, longer than Olivia, tail excluded. She loves her trout and so, well, you know Mom by now, right? It was only a matter of time, really.

Olivia has never been one to put up with things balanced on her head but we are talking about her trout, so naturally, she was okay with it.

But the Perch? A Perch perched on Olivia’s head? Even though much smaller than The Trout, would Olivia put up with that? That would be a challenge.

Or, maybe not so much a challenge.

Neither was adding a mousie on top of the Perch. Olivia did, however, draw the line at balancing The Trout AND the Perch at the same time so you’ll have to just imagine that in your own heads.

Thank you, Olivia. You can go about carrying your fish around the house again.
