05/10/2021 – Good Things

Viola is a good girl. She always uses the upstairs tower to sharpen her claws and when she does, she wiggles her backend back and forth in counterbalance to her clawing. It’s very cute.

On extra sunny days, Quint likes the comforter-muted, quiet space of his personal fort where he’s apt to sleep half his day away, and if needed, where we can always find him. He’s a very good boy.

Occasionally, we get donations of tomato sauce, paste, and sometimes enchilada sauce from the kind and generous Friends of Colehaus. Of all the boxes we have delivered here, be it of Hunt’s, Chewy, or random Amazon food or necessities, Tessa, and Tessa alone, always gravitates toward the tomato sauce boxes. She may be odd, but she’s a good girl.

We have two big, comfy, overly well loved chairs upstairs where we spend most of our time. None of the cats cared much for either of them until about 7 or 8 years ago when almost all of them decided to make those chairs theirs.

Nowadays, those leather chairs have small rips and tears and lots of claw marks on them but they are still comfortable. A couple of years ago, we placed fleece cat beds on each of the cushions; a smaller round one for Olivia who likes napping there, and a larger rectangle one for Pia. Lately, Pia’s been taking the smaller one, the one Olivia prefers and fits the best in. But does Olivia complain? Maybe a little. The good thing is she complains only to us (and very, very softly) and never to Pia. Not a yowl, a growl, or a confrontation. She’s knows that’s not worth the trouble and that makes her a good girl. Pia’s a good girl simply because she is, even if she does like to get her smells all over Olivia’s bed.
