Mom, remember when you said you and me had a very special date this weekend? Well, I’m waiting, though I don’t know how much longer I’ll patient at it!
Pretty, poofy Pia with poofier pantaloons, you won’t be terribly impressed with your special date because Mom’s also invited the clippers. Those pantaloons have taken on a life of their own. It’s time. Mom promises it will go fast (as if that’s ever happened) and you and your behind will be much happier.
And that’s only one of many things Mom has lined up for her first holiday/vacation days off.
- Pia’s pantaloons.
- Repaint kitchen ceiling (due to upstairs laundry room washer hose bursting back in September causing water leak and minor kitchen ceiling staining).
- Cat photos (Are we doing Christmas photos this year or not?) and blog posts.
- Put up outdoor Christmas lights (or is Mom going to be a Grinch like she was last year?)
- Final lawn mow/edge of 2021.
- Rake leaves/cut back shrubs and perennials for yard debris pickup.
- Wash car. Please.
- Laundry (check for soap first!).
- Cook pasta to freeze for work lunches.
- Scrub shower doors.
- Finish reading current book (Dead Men Do Tell Tales).
If Mom’s not careful, her entire five days off will be gone and she’ll go back to work just as exhausted as she comes home feeling every night!
Okay, Pia. Time for your special date! Pia, oh, Pia. Pia? Where are you, Pia?
