Over the past couple of years, people have posted videos online of their cats being outright terrified of cucumbers. Olivia proves that’s not so much a thing in this house.
No, really! I’m waiting for Dad to come downstairs to give me a snack. Who said I was waiting to pounce on someone coming down the stairs? ‘Cause I’m not.

Over the weekend, Mom finished up painting with as much paint as she had on hand. Two other walls in the kitchen remain to be painted and that’ll be another room off the list. She says she’s going to give the painting thing a break for a couple of weeks so she can focus on a few other things. We’ll see.
She’s also happy about getting rid of some old (not antique old) things over the weekend, including her big, heavy duty beast of a treadmill, all of which went to great homes. No one else asked her to ship the items to other countries, like happened last weekend, but she says she sure did get some “interesting” questions about the stuff.
As far as setting the stuff at the end of the driveway with a free sign on it and happily finding it gone later, everything that found homes couldn’t have survived sitting out in the rain, and we’d had bad luck with freebie items later found dumped and smashed in the field up the street from us, because, clearly, that’s fun to do.
The amount of open space we now have, now that those things are gone, is a bit jarring, but a happy jarring. Here it is, still January, and Mom’s got major things done on that ever-packed internal to-do list of hers. Yeah, she’s happy.
Every square inch?? She won’t paint my toys, will she? Hey, you guys, you don’t think she’ll paint my toys, right?

While Mom is definitely not painting every square inch of our house, or painting toys, she is painting every room. Slowly, methodically, on her day off, every room, and she expects to be done sometime, oh, let’s just say sometime this year. Three rooms complete and only six and a half to go!
Mom also attempted to sell and give away some furniture last weekend. She’s been trying to find homes for a few things for over two years now. In this latest attempt and some sixteen trolls later and four ghost pickups (interested parties never showed), she’s learned a few things: 1- People think this is funny. 2- People troll for entertainment purposes. 3- People will ask for more and more and more photos and information that’s already all listed in the ad. 4- And people like to ask, then demand, you ship items listed as FREE to places like North Carolina, Belarus, and Trinidad. Why? See number 2 thing learned above. Hilarious! Obviously.
