07/01/2022 – Hello July!

Hello July! Every July, we celebrate the month by sharing fruit with fruit-lovin’ Olivia. Cherries are her favorite and we were lucky that a neighbor shared some with us. No, we didn’t tell her one of our cats liked them, too. Some things are best kept to one’s self.

Later today, fireworks go on sale in our area for Monday’s Fourth of July. Mind you, fireworks are illegal around here, yet they sell them anyway. Talk about sending the wrong message! Technically, they are illegal inside city limits, and because we live about a quarter mile outside of city limits, shortly, our area will begin to sound like lots of people have lots of money they can afford to blow up. For days on end.

Quint and perhaps Olivia, maybe even Pia will pretty much stick to blanket forts in our bedroom for much of the day. Ditto tomorrow, Sunday, and definitely on Monday. Mom has to work Sunday and on the 4th but Dad will be here to keep curtains and blinds closed and to offer comforting words and gentle pats.

Stay safe out there over the holiday weekend and on the 4th. We’ll be back in about a week and hopefully, most of the bang and booms will be over by then!

06/27/2022 – A Monday Reminder

Just a friendly Monday reminder that Viola Niblet still sports her ginger forehead spot that we call her Mama’s Kiss, after her ginger angel mama Zuzu. When this spot is kissed, Viola almost always returns the kiss, mostly to Mom’s forehead because Mom’s the one who kisses first and Viola believes there’s not enough kissing in the world.
