Just about the time we think we haven’t seen a visitor in a while, one shows up. It’s been a month or more since Colby came visiting. And here he is! He’s a gentle giant and appreciates a good head scritch and kibble.

Here’s the other Black and White twin that we hardly ever see. He/she is very, very skittish and in fact, took off like a shot the second after getting this photo. Mom thinks its a she and knows the general area the two live. She saw a shaved belly on this one late last year, where a spay surgery spot would be, and thinks these two are about a year old.

Here’s the other twin. Mom thinks this is a boy. He’s friendlier, enjoys brief petting and kibble, and spending time with his sibling. Both hunt voles and mice, and unfortunately, birds. Twin 2 has a mostly white face while Twin 2 has mostly black.

We haven’t seen Tippy out since early spring but we know where he lives and see him occasionally in that neighbor’s window. Tippy may be an inside cat now and to that, we say BRAVO!

Lastly, we get fairly regular visits from Mr. MewMew (neutered male from three houses down) who loves the dried chicken catnip treats, though only for the catnip part, and a pat on the head, but not Mr. G (formerly known as Murray). The two get into a tuff war fight every other week, it seems, with Mr. G coming out on top every time. Mr. G claims our house as his own territory.

Here’s the deal: Mr. G lives kitty-corner down the hill behind us and allegedly, has 24/7 access to a fine warm and dry garage to stay in. We’ve driven by his house and that certainly does look to be the case. Mr. G prefers to stay around here however, even now with the rain and our cold night temps and without much of a porch or overhang to keep him dry. He knows about our warmed feral shelters out back with fresh straw stuffed inside but he’s not interested and seems to not be too bothered by staying out in the weather. Yet.

We think as long as we can afford to keep kibble out in the feeding station during day hours for those visitors who wander through, Mr. G’s going to stick around. Mr. G is a people-cat. He absolutely adores people. We absolutely cannot keep him. As sad as it is, we have to look at him hanging around here all summer as a wonderfully memorable summer relationship that inevitably comes to an end when fall turns to winter.

  1. Such a fine collection of yard kitties!
Making sure they have a snack is very kind.

They are all beautiful. It makes me sad to see so many living outdoors instead of safe and warm inside XO

Wow, you sure do have a lot of kitty visitors! We wish Mr. G didn’t have to fight for his turf every week. 🙁

  4. You do have a lot of lovely kitty visitors.
