A package arrived a few weeks ago and immediately, Mom gave it to the first cats she saw after arriving home from work. Those two didn’t seem overly excited about this package invading their space, though to be honest, they had been enjoying their 8th nap of the day (if you listen to Dad explain it) so maybe they were still groggy.
Mom’s been working a whole lot lately because last month was a very expense month, and after seeing a lack of enthusiasm from Quint and Tessa (again, they might have been sleepy), Mom put the package in a safe place and vowed to reintroduce it around Viola’s October birthday.

Very excitedly and with only a kind of/sort of short delay on Mom’s part in getting that package back out, Viola opened the package and found NEW TOYS! Oh, happy day!

She had to sniff each toy that she slowly pulled out from the envelope, like you do. Oh, tell us you wouldn’t have done the same. Be honest!

Finally all were out and ready for inspection. You can believe each one was thoroughly sniffed and accounted for.

Viola was very interested in some stickers that were included, too! Maybe she was thinking that one looked the most like her? “Hey Mom! This one looks a little like me!”

And then, she went back through them all and settled on this one. What’s this? A new favorite toy? She sniffed it and sniffed it and rolled it around and sniffed it some more. Only time will tell if this soft multi-colored ball will join her favorite green toy, or will the two toys get along? That green toy is pretty used to being The Only One . . . and this new one, the Interloper, may have to learn to get along. And what about all those other New Toys?

It didn’t take long for Quint to perk up when he saw his baby sister with new toys. He batted two onto the floor and Mom gave him a sticker to sniff. The small white one with a few pink threads was instantly carried upstairs and placed on his warmed mat, maybe for later snuggling.

Tessa, preferring not to be like her little sister Viola, chose to stick with the stickers like any teen girl would do. We bet it won’t be long before she’s sticking those on everything.

Thank you so much for the awesome New Toys, EP! They’re a hit!
