06/20/2022 – What? Monday Again?

Someone mentioned to Mom at work the other day that raccoons can’t be affectionate. And, of course, when Mom said otherwise and showed them this photo, that person refused to look or listen.

Okay, it’s “possible” Shaggy wasn’t licking or grooming her baby on its forehead here; who knows, maybe she was tasting it. Something tells us that wasn’t the case. And just look at the love in that baby’s eyes for its mama! At least, we’re choosing to believe that’s love every bit as we felt angel mama Zuzu was grooming, not tasting one of her Niblet babies in this flashback photo from October 2013.

Anyway, here’s to seeing love on Monday. Maybe on Tuesday, too, especially if we get our spare bedroom flooring installed, and the over-stuffed Cat Den a.k.a. On Site Storage back to the cats as nature intended.

One guess as to what Olivia thinks of that happening as planned and hoped.

If our flooring is installed as planned on Tuesday, we’ll take Wednesday off to do nothing more than to sit around all day and admire it. No, not really. Undoubtedly, Mom will be moving furniture back in there with the hope of getting a wee bit of normalcy back into our lives and the cats’ lives. Of course, if anything changes or the floor install is cancelled (yet again), you’ll probably hear about it here Wednesday after all. Lucky you.

If there weren’t cats, we suspect there might be domesticated raccoons… They seem similar in some ways. Though smaller ones would be better.

  2. When it comes to their young, I think raccoons can be affectionate too.
Olivia, I purr the room gets done to your satisfaction 😉

Of course Shaggy is showing affection. You can’t convince someone who doesn’t want to know!

    Think positively Olivia. 🙂

Look at the tail on that raccoon baby. It seems pretty plain that he knows he is being loved on.

We hope the flooring gets installed!

That’s affection if we’ve ever seen it! Just saying. 🙂

Paws crossed that your flooring gets installed on Tuesday!

  8. How can you see that baby raccoon and resist running up and grabbing it? I know, I know. A girl can dream, can’t she?

  9. Summer says:

Sorry I’m late! When I stopped by before, the blog was down. I hope the flooring got installed!
