05/06/2019 – The News as told by Viola

I have news today, good news and no, it’s not that I’m still pretty though that ought to be news every day. My news today is that my Dad is somewhere else, not here giving me brushies as usual because he found a job! It’s only a temporary job and for a lot less that he says we need to keep our house, but we’ll be afloat for a while longer.

It’s that word “afloat” that has me worried. Are we floating? Who put us in a pool? Cats don’t like pools, or so I’ve heard. I wasn’t aware I was anywhere in proximity of a pool. Should I be frightened? I think I should be frightened.

I’ll have to have a think on this. Which is more alarming – I may or may not be in a pool, or that my Dad isn’t here brushing me? Here might be the real quandary: Cats have too much time to ponder such things. I think I need a nap.

Shhh . . . I’m napping and waiting for brushies from my Dad.

  4. Viola, you do not have to worry; your needs will be tended to, just at different times for a while. It’s good to hear that your dad has a temp job; it’ll go on his resume, and perk it right up! You take a nice, long nap now, Viola, and don’t make those airplane ears!
    (Good luck, Dad!)

  5. Oh no, don’t worry, no water involved. I’m so glad your dad found a job. Hugs to all of you.

  22. Just Ducky says:

Good news that the Dad found a job to work at. It helps with getting green papers to pay the bills.

  23. Miss Viola! Afloat can mean LOTS of things, and some of them don’t even have nuffing to do with ::whispers:: water. We are super happy to hear your Dad got some work and we will purray it leads to more and more!

On another note, we are terribly sad to realize Miss Newton left for the Bridge. Somehow, we missed that sad news. (The Human has been very distracted and not visiting or reading much). We will miss her lovely orange presence, though we know she has found lots of furiends on the Other Side. XOXOXO to you all.

  24. Summer says:

Viola, you don’t need to be worrying about your human’s problems because worrying is a waste of time, especially for kitties. I’m just glad he has a job, for now, and maybe a better, permanent one will come along soon.

  25. That’s a start for the Dad! Viola, you aren’t featured very often on this blog, but you sure knock it out of the park!

  26. meowmeowmans says:

Woohoo! That’s awesome news about your dad finding a job, Viola. We hope the temporary one is a sign of a permanent one to come. And whew, that was a whole lot of thinking you just did. Yup, a nap is most definitely in order! XO
