As with most of the cat toys around Colehaus, we too are ignored sometimes. Tessa spent most of the winter ignoring Mom and Dad completely. She wasn’t lovey, or snuggly, didn’t come when called (nothing unusual there), and wanted little to do with brushing, scritches, or petting.
One warm weekend later and she’s demanding attention, wants to snuggle, and is calling the very best toys hers alone.
When not climbing all over us and giving kisses (shh, don’t share that info!), she’s leaping from counter top to window sill, rubbing on corners and blinds and purring up a storm. Maybe the warmer weather brought out the best of tuxie behavior in her? We can understand that.
Once the cold, rainy weather returned, so did her usual mode – ignoring us and everything, except a favorite fleece blanket. We think if 12 year old Tessa were human, she’d be a snowbird and probably living it up in Florida or San Diego right about now, yelling at kids to get off her lawn.

Poor Tessa. I think you need a heating pad for cold days.
There are two working heating pads for Tessa to choose from. She seems to prefer grumpy to warm and toasty. Maybe she has SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder)?
Maybe she needs a cat heating pad for the cold days, it might keep her warm enough to improve her disposition during the cooler weather.
She has two heating mats to choose from that have been plugged in since last November (both still working). Sometimes Quint uses one while the other sits toasty and warm, but alone and ignored. At this point, if Tessa isn’t grumpy, something’s amiss.
We feel ya, Tessa. We’re kinda grumpy when it’s cold and grey, ttoo.
We think Tessa and Sadie have been talking, because Sadie will do the same thing!
