Welcome to March. This is Pia. She’s a big, floofy girl with a big attitude and a big presence at Colehaus. Pia spends her days napping and recently, spent days hunting down and eating house ants to supplement what she considered a very meager diet of yukky canned food.
Those ants did not like being eaten, understandably, and Pia had an upset stomach for days. That meager canned food diet, which, in reality, wasn’t meager by any stretch of imagination, went ignored during those days because ants are tastier, apparently.
The ants are gone for the time being, and Mom, who worried herself sick over Pia’s weight loss and lack of enthusiasm for anything, got Pia to eat kibble of which we’re fairly certain is crunchier than ants but maybe not as tasty. We’re not willing to test that theory ourselves. Still, the effort was a win but also a loss. Pia, returning to her food roots, refuses canned wet food and will only eat kibble now. Insert big sigh here as we start over from scratch with her.

Oh Pia, eating ants… Don’t have any idea how they taste but you ought to try eating all cat food again—not just kibble.

Pia, ants are not a well balanced diet! Kibble is okay, but wet food is much better. Eric preferred kibble too.

We have leant that ants are better for paying with than for eating. OK, maybe one, but more gets us upset.
Hi Pia would have a field day here–San Francisco has more ants than she could ever imagine! But we (Buddy & Gigi) do NOT find them tasty AT ALL. But she’s probably better off with the cat fudz!
Our Human (Mary) needs to get in touch with you but she thinks maybe the email she has for you no longer works? Could you ask your Mom to get in touch with us?
Hoping this reply gets to you. We’ve been writing to you for months and only recently discovered some email servers no longer accept email from comcast. We’ve tried your gmail and your Gigi and the Budster email accounts using our Outlook account but haven’t heard back from you, so we’re not sure if that’s working either. We will keep trying! And thank you for your updates.
