Working Wednesday – Branching Out.

My Mom is a fanatic at trying to keep things orderly. Notice I didn’t say she kept things orderly, just that she tries to. Take this blog for example. She put lots of thought and effort into creating it and keeping it going, getting the colors and placement of things just so. She dislikes clutter… just like me! When you think of it, it’s hard to find toys in clutter. So just don’t… don’t create clutter, that is. Don’t look for my toys. That’s my job.

Last month, after our oldest brother ran off to the bridge, Mom knew she would have to do some web redesign. I helped make sure our blog header was orderly and worked properly. I bet you didn’t know, or maybe you did, that each time the page loads, our blog header displays a different one of us in front. Sometimes it’s one of my sisters; Olivia, Pia or Ruby and sometimes it’s me. Other times, it might be big brother Maxx or Tessa or Miss Newton. It’s like we all get a turn at being on top. I like that! It was sad to see brother Seth’s photo removed, but Mom and I both took deep breaths and moved forward. I excelled at keeping everyone’s photo just right and in the right order. I think I understand this PhotoShop thing.

As for all that other stuff: our photo strip and changed colors and advertiser clean up, I left it all for her to work on, knowing that she does that part best. I trust your judgment, Mom. I know you’ll always strive to make us look our very best for all the Internets!

  1. we didn’t notice that about your header, but what a wonderful and cute idea……

    • Thank you! Our Mom was thinking we would all like equal billing somehow. We think that means everyone gets the same attention. She says there might be maths involved in there somewhere. *shivers*

  2. You are so lucky having a clever Mum – our Mum is hopeless at things like that but she does cook us delicious chicken.
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx

  3. Quint, you and your Mom do a great job!

  8. can you help our mama fix our blog too?

    • We think your blog is very pretty and clean! We really like it. Unfortunately, our Mom gave up on Blogspot years ago and doesn’t know how she could help. Thanks for visiting us today!

  9. Wes did notice and wes wondered how your Mommy did it.

    • Thank you, Nellie. Tell your Mom we made 7 different headers and when I say we, I mean me, Quint gave Mom the idea. Then our WordPress theme does the rest with the random choosing of headers. I wish I could take credit for that part but that would be a fib. Purrs…

  10. *sighs* we know a blog needs a lot of time and efforts, just to keep it going. My huMum is just too lazy and can´t bother to create a self-hosted blog, she´s glad takes over all the background stuff it needs (updates and so on) and puts up with the limits.

As already said, we love your blog. Aside from content it´s bright and clean, well arranged and good to read. We didn´t find the time to browse through yet but we´ll certainly do soon.

  11. hm, wonder why my Gravatar pic does not appear on your blog … if you have any idea?

  12. My Mom could never do any of that, it looks fab..Clever Mommy 🙂 xx00xx

  13. Well I must say, you have one of the best looking blogs going, first class all the way!

  14. We didn’t realize your header changed front photos, either, but now we’ll be sure to look every time we visit.

Your human has done a great job with your blog…under your supervision, of course.

Thanks for stopping by! Send us a few ladybugs!

  15. Love the design! I am incapable of keeping things orderly; glad the cats and their papa love me anyway! Hugs & belly rubs! 🙂

  16. That’s so cool that each of you get to be featured in turn on the header. We’re sure your mom doesn’t show any favoritism, but this shows how very important each and every one of you are. The entire site is very appealing. Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Josette

  17. I love the idea of changing headers! You are a great supervisor, Quint!

  18. Quint
your Mom is doing a fantastic job with the changes to your blog.
    Guess what?
My Mom hates clutter too. She tries to work on it too. Tries is the operative word! HA!
But as long as we snoopervise them I think we can keep on top of it, right?

  19. It was good of you to help, when you could have been napping. It looks great.

  20. Great work! And your header is very nice and very clever.

  21. You are obviously a very artistic family!! Brilliant idea and well executed!

  22. Quint, you do a super job of keeping your Mom on task.
    The blog looks great 🙂

  24. Quint, you’re cute and a good little helper, too. Your blog looks just great. Our Mama doesn’t know any Photoshop and she can’t figure out WordPress. We hope you had a super Wednesday. Purrs from Ateret, Livia and Abbi.
