Miss Newton and Seth friendship.

Respect and friendship. Miss Newton & Seth.
2012 © Colehaus Cats.

One of many holiday blessings we’re thankful for: All Most of the Colehaus Cats get along amazingly well together (Maxx being the only exception – ahem!).

Case in point: Miss Newton and Seth. Almost ten years in age difference with completely different backgrounds and upbringings and yet, they hold high regard for one another. Especially at this time of year, their interaction – sleeping closeby, lounging together in the same room, touching and rubbing alongside each other is almost magical.

From Mom and Dad: Thank you, Seth. Thank you, Miss Newton. We love you!

We’re very impressed with Quint’s artistic talent, good luck!

Yes, having a peace, or at least tolerance in the fur family is a blessing. We didn’t have that with “angel” Annie-she hated us, Nicki especially, and he bullied her pretty much every day. Made for a very unpleasant household. As much as our human desperately misses her Annie, even after almost 2 years, she doesn’t miss the daily fights and stresses.

Our Mom sometimes tells us of a similar situation here when she had to keep one completely away from the others because of the bite-y habits. She says she misses the one she calls, “Crits, the Queen” but same as your human, she doesn’t miss the daily dramas. Thank you for looking at Quint’s art! Purrs…

We haven’t had holidays yet but we are very very busy preparing for Christmas … I’ve ensured that huMum is going to have a mental breakdown as I send back so many presents she has purchased for my anipal furiends as being unsuitable … so I’m very thankful for my huMum putting up with my demands. xxx’s, love you

  3. I am blessed that my cat and dog share the same kind of respect! They get along superbly!

  4. That is really sweet they get along so nicely. I love my pippinpumpkin and we are like two peas in a pod. Have a marvelous Monday.
    Best wishes Molly

    • colehauscats says:

*big sigh* We’re sure he didn’t mean to create that situation, but ewww anyway. More space for us now even though he’s getting special treatment in the special room. Have a happy week! Purrs…

  6. I love my Mollie, even if she’s a dawg 🙂 xx00xx

  7. CATachresis says:

I don’t really “get along” with others, but others can “get along” with me!! Just contrary, really!! >^,.^<

  8. Harry and Tipp seem to get along well (at least when they’re sleeping) but I still kinda don’t hang with them. But then again, I always make sure I have first dibs on the Momma!
    Dexter
pee ess: the Momma is so excited waiting for Quint’s painting to come!
She said it’s a christmas present to herself!

    • colehauscats says:

Ah, sleeping buddies. We’re like that sometimes, even more now that the cold weather has arrived. First dibs on the Momma…hmm, we’ll have to give that a try. And on the Dad too!

Quint says he hopes you like and enjoy his art. But if for any reason, it’s not what you expected, let Mom know and she’ll make it right. Thank you and Happy early Holidays!

  9. meowmeowmans says:

That Quint sure is a talented kitteh!

Cats that get along are such a blessing. Our Sammy and Moosey are about 10 years apart in age, and they’ve pretty much come to respect each other. 🙂

    • colehauscats says:

That’s great to hear! Our Mom talks about a time when hardly anyone here got along, though that’s hard to believe. We love each other! Respect is everything, don’t you agree? Purrs…

  10. Sparkle says:

We actually get along most of the time – it only gets touchy when Binga or Boodie go to the vet. Then I go ballistic! As a result, when they visit the vet, I usually have to go with them. 🙁

  11. Madi and Mom says:

It is always so nice to read about bros and sissies who love and respect one another. Your peeps have raised you well
    Hugs madi

  12. What a lovely photo, and a lovely state of affairs!

    Purrs,
    The Chans

  13. Lucy the Cat says:

Having kitties get along is so wonderful. When we first brought Annie home (a little over a year ago now), I worried that Lucy and Simba and she would ever get along. Well, it didn’t take too long and they all are now fine with each other. That is such a lovely photo of Miss Newton and Seth.

Thanks so much for your nice comment about Lucy.

    • colehauscats says:

Sweet Lucy. We hope she feels better soon. We feel so blessed to have so many here get along. There are even days, though those are few, when Maxx seems to appreciate the company and those are special too.

  14. Sigh…any chance they could make a “how to” dvd I can show to my two battling babies?

  15. We are incredibly blessed in every way. One of our old boys has late stage kidney disease but he teaches us to savor every moment.

  16. Brian says:

That kind of relationship helps make things even more purrfect!

  17. KatzTales says:

Friends is best. How come Maxx is a little difficult?

    • colehauscats says:

We think it’s because someone declawed him as a kitten and he learned no other way to communicate his needs other than to bite. Unfortunately, that means he growls and can bite the others too from time to time. Even visitors have to get a warning about his nippy-ness (and we’re not talking catnip nippy-ness). We’ve worked with him over the years and can give him lots of scritches and pets but he always lets us know when he’s done, with teeth. Maybe he was an only cat as a kitten. Maybe he was handled roughly. We just don’t know but after eight years, we’re still not giving up on him and his, “I’ve got to be the only cat” attitude. We’re lucky everyone else here has so much patience with him too.

  18. It sounds like me and Kitshka! The picture is beautiful!
    Purrs

  19. BeadedTail says:

We think all kitties should get along because snuggling is way better than wrassling!

  20. Hi, we mostly get a long, then there are days mum says we are trying to get to keep and be the alpha cat. Tonight, we have peace.

  21. Our painting came! Our painting came! Our painting came!!! We were soooooo a-cited. It’s furry pretty and delicate. Pretty soon we will decide where to hang it and then we’ll post a picture. Thanks for sending it so quick!

    • colehauscats says:

We’re so happy! Thank you so much for telling us! We’re working extra hard to get these out as fast as possible to Quint’s customers and hope yours to your liking. Enjoy and Happy Holidays!

  22. Fraidy Cats! says:

Nice! We suppose our mom’s Christmouse wish (every year, mol!) is for us to all get along 🙂 Thanks for visiting our blog. Quint is quite the artist! We all like his work. Purrs,

    Pip, Smidgen, Minnie, Hollie

  23. Oui Oui says:

There is always that one exception! Our terror is Julie. She just doesn’t like anyone except for her mommy. Oh, and food.

  24. prancer pie says:

We wish everybody in our household got along that well. Nothing like a daily tussle to keep the Mommy on her toes!

  25. Whisppy says:

With the number of animals we have, we are truly grateful everyone pretty much gets along. There’s the occasional squabble but never anything to worry about.

  26. That is too cute 🙂 Someday we hope Tillie and Julie will like each other.
It takes time and we have that 🙂
We also giggled at Olivia’s “jelly roll” yesterday heeheehee
    Purrs Tillie and Georgia,
    Tiger,Treasure,JJ and Julie

    • colehauscats says:

Peace abounds in this house for some reason, and we couldn’t be happier about it! Usually, it takes a long, long time. We’re very lucky. Oh, the Tessa Jelly Roll! Next year, we’ll have to put a sprig of holly near her, position Olivia and serve them for dessert! LOL!

  27. Mowzers, could you guys, like, uh….teach Faraday to get along with Allie and stuff?
I’m getting tired of always being the peacemaker. They sure could use some Seth/Miss Newton instructions!
    – Maxwell

  28. Tamago says:

How great Seth and Newton get along so well with each other! This is very sweet picture of them 🙂 They can teach my boys to be nice to each other!

    • colehauscats says:

We wish we knew their secret to getting along so well. Maybe Seth and Newton know that it takes less energy to keep the peace than not to? Unfortunately, they are saying one way or the other.
