As the official Patrol Sergeant around here, because this place surely needed one, I find I have a lot of thinking time on my hands now that things are in reasonably good shape. Everyone’s fun permits are in order and there’s no funny business without my approval, no running amok, no going all willy-nilly, and certainly, no coloring outside the lines as it were. I drew the line in the sandbox and everyone has complied.
That said, holding this kind of position puts one under the spotlight. I am the example to follow. I have a high standard to maintain and tough rules, laws really, to uphold, laws every cat knows but most ignore because they can. Laws like the one that states the most dignified cat of the household, moi, must maintain the utmost of self control at all times.

Take this toy, for example. I *could* play with it, even though it’s a kitten toy, you know, for KITTENS who know no better. But I don’t. Because if I were to play, to be seen having fun, everyone would have fun and my entire law enforcement structure would break down.
So I ignore this toy. Shoo… Go away, kitten toy. You have no appeal to me for I am a rock, a hard place, sworn to uphold my law-abiding, anti-fun duty.
