Ruby Tuesday.
Ruby here, staying once again in the luxurious boudoir upstairs away from others I can say with all certainty I will never be made to befriend. When the lady I’m supposed to call Mom asks me to be nice to those other cats, I just look at her and ask why?
“Because I said so,” is not an acceptable answer, human lady.
Last week, I was feeling a little…finicky and thought about that great cat tower I discovered a couple of weeks ago. Yeah, it could use a good scratching. So someone, I didn’t pay much attention to who it was, opened the door and I raced sauntered out and made my way to that tower and really let it have a piece of my mind.
Then I got a whiff of something that brought me to my senses! Wait a minute! I’m out of that great room I like so much! And so, I sat back at the door and looking over my shoulder with the most pitiful look I could muster, I emitted small sounds that luckily, the human lady has a sensitive ear for. And she let me back in.
Heh, I have those humans so wrapped around my paw.
Mancat Monday – The Playboys.
Every so often, or at least once a day (whichever comes first), Quint sneaks into Maxx’s room to exercise his kitten energy and antagonize tease “play” with his older brother. We all know how much Maxx likes to “play,” which would be with about the same amount of enthusiasm he’d have mowing the lawn. With a push mower.
The fun always begins the same. Unsuspecting Maxx, lying on the bench at the end of the bed footboard on his favorite ivory mattelasse, is suddenly presented with a paw and a pink nose peeking from the gap. Everything would be just swell if it ended there…but it never does.
A few more pokes of paw and nose, Quint’s determined to rile up his brother…
…just enough to get a response. In this case, Maxx pokes back with a marshmallow paw and without the usual growl, whap and flashing teeth. Whew! Quint, we really thought you had him going there for a second!
