Mom, what are you doing? You’re being odd. I think you’re getting too much fresh air from working outside. You should probably stop that.
What? Who, me? I just happened to see you sitting there, looking like you were contemplating sleeping sitting up and no one could argue that your tail isn’t anything but pretty. What? I thought you liked getting photographed no matter the pose.
Apparently, we’re gearing up for a Black and White Summer while missing long time visitors here to Colehaus. We haven’t seen Lloyd since last December (a lynx point) nor Colby since last September (floofy orange and white). And we can’t forget Mr. G. (gray tabby) and his buddy Bunny Jacks (floofy black and white) who moved to Idaho last June. Mom missed Mr. G. terribly when she was working so hard out in the garden earlier in the month. Mr. G. always made hard work seem less hard.
You know KeeKee here, formerly known as Mr. MewMew. He was missing for about a month this last winter and when he returned, he sported a shaved neck and a serious, mostly healed neck scar. He always was one for fighting. We’re thankful his family took care of him.
Tippy’s still a regular since last fall when he returned from a year’s absence. Still won’t let Mom get within 3 feet of him which she thinks is very sad because Tippy’s thick, short black fur looks like it would feel like heaven.
Blueberry (his tag says so) comes around every few days and lets Mom pet him but not brush him. He seems like a very happy boy as long as a brush isn’t nearby.
Now, who is this sweetheart? He wouldn’t let Mom look at his tag up close but he was friendly. On this day, he wore a very frayed blue bow collar (found a couple of days later in a side yard) and now wears a red, breakaway collar. Mom still hasn’t been able to look closely at his collar because he doesn’t visit too often, but she does see him now and then across the street at a neighbors front door. It’s possible he lives there.
Lastly, the 2nd Mystery cat is also black with a white bib and white mittens. He’s so skittish Mom’s not been able to get a photo of him but knows he likes those dried chicken and catnip treats. Just as long as Mom isn’t hovering by the side door trying to take a picture. That’ll be just a matter of time.
