Ruby here and look who has become my new friend. Zuzu! Or as some of you know her as, Ginger Patrol Sergeant Zuzu. She keeps the house in order, checking for fun and frolic permits, making sure all scamper and zoomie papers are in order, and putting the kibosh on all shenanigans, 24/7.

You’d never guess who has never, not once ever, had to be scolded by GPS Zuzu. Me! I’m quiet, I’m as neat as a pin, and I abhor shenanigans. Why, I’m a perfect cat and therefore, a perfect friend for Zuzu. We’re getting along famously!

See? I told you I had plans for 2016. That’s a good plan, huh?

Occasionally, we talk about the outdoor visitors that wander by here but unless we photograph them, how do you really know we aren’t fibbing? You want proof. Okay, so here’s some proof.

The big footprints running from top to bottom are Mom’s from when she went out to refill the bird feeders at dawn Monday morning. Every thing else is everyone else who stopped by our fountain watering hole over the course of a few hours before and after. We’re pretty sure there are no water buffalo or Bigfoot tracks in there but in case we’re not seeing them, here’s a larger photo if you’d like to look!

01/05/2016 – Not Really a Ruby Tuesday

This isn’t a REAL Ruby Tuesday. Not really. I just wanted to let those of you know, who might not know, I’m taking 2016 off from my usual Ruby Tuesday posts. That’s what a good contract lawyer will do for you.

But don’t worry – I’ll still be around, here and there on this blog. You’ll see me in posts and in photos throughout the year mixed in with everyone else, and when 2017 rolls around, I’ll be back to work with my every Tuesday Ruby Tuesday posts. Or so says my contract. In the meantime, our blog will have new posts every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

And so what am I going to do with an entire year off? I’ve got plans and tomorrow, you’ll see what I’ve already been working on. Yep, my own post and so soon! Well, me and someone else’s post, technically. But it’ll be good, I promise!

01/04/2016 – Snow Day!

We had a post all written up, a post about one bad kitty and crystal clear photographic evidence of something bad they did. We were all ready to dish the dirt and you’d never guess who the guilty party was. But then, something more exciting happened.

We’re having snow days!

Living in the Pacific Northwest in the United States doesn’t automatically mean we get snow every winter. Most winters are just cool and very rainy. It’s special when we get any of the white stuff. So when the Saturday night weathermen said snow would probably stay south of us, we were certain we wouldn’t see anything.

Wrong-O! Count us giddy!

Olivia watched the snow drift down for hours from the front window.

And Tessa watched from the glass front door.

And we were particularly giddy because Saturday afternoon, our first feralvilla.com feeding station arrived! Perfect timing to keep the outside cats food bowl out of the elements. In fact, just a mere second or two before snapping this photo, a soft gray (dilute) cat was sitting there at the fence entrance, and of course, took off like a shot to parts unknown. Looks like someone new has found us. We’ll try hard to get him/her photographed soon.

And don’t worry about that bad kitty post. We’ll reschedule that for next week and let the guilty party relax for a bit longer. Don’t worry. We won’t forget. Like elephants, Moms never forget.
