Pia, oh Pia, we thought you said you wanted to be featured today, on the blog. Too early for you?

Pia: zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz . . .

Hours later, after Mom moved Pia and her Sleepypod to a sunny window.

Pia says: Oh hey! I’ll be awake and up in just a minute. Could a girl get a little privacy in the meantime? Mom?

Good to see you up, Pia. Finally.

Well, a girl does need her rest. It’s takes a lot of energy to look this fluffy and gingery. Is there something you need, Mom?

The blog? You said we weren’t featuring you enough so today’s your day. Remember? We talked about this yesterday?

Ah, yeah. That. Could we reschedule? Something’s come up.

Later still . . .

Pia, ready for your photoshoot? For the blog. For today.

Mom, I am kinda busy. In fact, I was just getting ready to take a meeting . . .

Even later . . .

HEY! PIA! Are you scratching that chair?

What? This old thing? Silly Dad, this was scratched up WAY before I was even a thought. I was just . . . sniffing it, wondering what bad cat scratched this lovely leather chair.

Okay, just checking. Sniffs are okay. Are you ready for photos? Mom’s ready if you are.

Oh. Mom. She’s not going to put things on my head, is she? Tell me she isn’t and I’ll go get ready.

No head toys today. Give us some action shots. Do what you need to do to be ready.

Okie-dokie! Just give me a minute . . .

Last week we were asked, “Your cat guests, are those their real names?” To which we reply, yes! Sort of.

Scruffy really is Scruffy, named by his family. W is something that starts with a W but for privacy reasons, we’re withholding his full name. W has a history and we don’t want to be responsible for the IRS finding him or anything.

Wally isn’t Wally, surely he isn’t. But try as we may, we can’t be certain which house, exactly, is his to ask his family. We’re not saying no one on that particular street is friendly or anything, but . . . no one answers their doors when we know someone(s) is home. And Wally might look like an old man cat, he’s actually only three this year. Just think of his physical personality when he does become an old man cat!

Pierre is also unknown in the real name department but honestly, he’s a white cat with a black floofy tail, a black nose and a black splotch over one eye like he’s wearing a jaunty, tilted beret. Can’t you just imagine him meowing to you in French? Okay, maybe that’s just us. What would you call him?

Lastly and apparently, Quint’s in the latest edition of Catser Magazine! Okay, we knew this was coming and worked with the incredibly awesome writer Ramona Marek for Quint’s interview. We haven’t seen the interview and not sure where to find a copy at the moment, but we’ve heard nothing by rave reviews and Quint’s paintings are flying off the shelf, going to all points around the country (the exception continues to be the Northeastern corner of the U.S. – C’mon Maine, don’t you need a Quint painting?).

And because of these recent sales and help from you, the friends of Colehaus, today a young-ish kitten in need is being spayed and another is being treated for injuries. Thank you, Quint fans!

Thank you so much, Ramona, for your hard work, patience and for being our friend. Hugs and purrs!

07/15/2019 – Book Review Monday

Quint liked "I'm Possible" © Colehauscats.com

Mom says: I won this book from Ellen of 15andmeowing.com who asked if I could review it after reading it. It was an absolute pleasure to do so!

Ever find a book so engaging, you can’t put it down, even if you promised yourself you’d pace yourself and only read a chapter or two per day/night? “I’m Possible” by Jeremy Cowart is that book for me. On my work days, 12 hour long days spent standing, I get up at 3:45 a.m. so I can’t afford to stay up much past 9 p.m. Luckily for me, I received this book on a non-work day but still told myself I would go to bed early and read just one chapter per night. Two nights later, I was wrapping up my first entire read-through and started reading it all over again. And on a work night no less. So much for good intentions. But WOW! What a story!

I’m Possible” is highly positive reading and motivational as well. How could a young boy who saw the world differently and thought of himself as mediocre accomplish so much throughout his adult life? By staying positive, by seeing and thinking of the world differently and by remembering what his parents told him. In this memoir, author Jeremy Cowart tells how he pushed through his own doubts and fears and continues to change the word beyond anything he ever dreamed.

I thoroughly enjoyed “I’m Possible” and strongly recommend this book to anyone, and especially to anyone who might temporarily feel the world is working against them. It’s not really. And Jeremy Cowart’s “I’m Possible” could just be the inspiration you need.

Thanks Ellen!
