Viola and Colehaus welcomes November! November’s one of our favorite months because it has so many things we love in it. Foggy, damp mornings, the rain, mossy things, the smell of fireplace wood smoke in the air, the rain, the sound of Canada geese returning to our area, the end of Mom needing the mow the grass every week, snuggly sweater weather, the official season to drink apple cider without judgment and the rain.
There’s the added bonus of irritating the people who go on and on all season long about hating the gray, gloomy skies with how much we love those very things. Yeah, that doesn’t tend to go well when some of those people are bosses. We live, we learned, we stay mostly silent. But we’re smiling inside. Happy November!
Viola’s claimed a spot on Dad’s downstairs bed (Quint’s the lump under the waterproof/cat proof blue cover), and Tessa usually naps nearby. Viola’s feeling a little under the weather as she waits for a dental extraction she’s scheduled for this coming Friday. A week ago, she hit her upper right canine tooth when jumping down from a kitchen counter and broke it off at the gum line. She’s on Clavamox until then and hates Mom, the official once-every-12-hour pill giver.
See? This is why we’re always on them about not getting up on the counters. But does anyone around here listen?
While Halloween is still a couple of days away, Viola prepares her trebuchet for the hungry, unruly hoards that’s sure to wander our street. You know, just in case they’re looking to steal some kibble. Oh, she is soooo ready for that rumble!
