My Mom gets up way too early for me. Every day at oh-dark-thirty, Mom snaps on the light, pats me on my head – sometimes she gives me a kiss – and then, after a bit, she’s gone. Why so early, Mom? Can’t you tell those people you work with that I’m here at home, waiting?

Good thing I’m forgiving . . . and have things of my own to do at oh-dark-thirty – bath time. I have lots of furs, if you hadn’t noticed, furs that need attention because they often have a mind of their own. But some licks here and lots of licks there, and, mostly, they’re back into some semblance of place.

And putting those furs into place assures my Mom will recognize me the very second she walks back through the door. As if she wouldn’t know her Ginger Princess! Ha!
