Not more than 2 weeks since Viola’s necessary dental surgery, Tessa comes down with a swollen chin and a heavier than usual bout of cranky attitude. We think she got to the opened empty cans of cat food before Dad could collect them and might have cut her mouth on the sharp metal. Mom’s watching her like a hawk to see if anything worsens and if so, we’ll have to make another trip to the vet.

Sometimes, when it rains, it pours.

On the other side of the cat coin and enjoying not having that cone on her head, Viola is healing wonderfully. She’s not scratching her jaw (much) and seems to be mostly over expecting hard kibble treats in the morning as was the routine. And you know how much cats LOVE routine! It’s a pinch of chicken catnip dust as a morning treat now and she seems to be okay with that substitute. Not that she has much choice in the matter as Mom explains every morning.

What do you mean, exactly, when you say Take it or leave it? Leave it for whom? I’m not sure I like that ultimatum.

To help with the lack of hard crunchies, the wonderful Tooth Fairy sent Viola soft, great smelling toys to call her own and help her tender mouth heal.

While opening her Tooth Fairy package, Viola had to tell Quint to back off or he’d get a licking, and not of the good kind. Even missing a few teeth, that girl’s still spicy!

Picking a first favorite, she puts the ol’ chomp-eroo on the orange toy.

Suddenly, Viola stopped, flopped over and pawed at the toys package. Something just didn’t feel right.

After a bit of digging around, she found another soft toy hidden in the package. And in her favorite drumstick/fishie shape!

It’s a hit! Viola’s favorite new soft toy (for the moment) is the green one that not only was taken to bed with her but got the full-on bitey treatment. Thank YOU, Tooth Fairy! Viola loves them all!

I was sure I had commented on this post. My PC had broken down so was trying to do a certain amount of commenting on my phone, but numb fingers and a small keypad don’t go well together!
I am glad that Viola is doing well and enjoying her gifts from the tooth fairy. I hope Tessa’s chin has resolved without another visit to the vet.
