Hello September. Okay, we can do this one of two ways: Either you’ll be nice and stay more on the cooler side or we can badmouth you the entire month if you aren’t. Your choice. Go on. Make up your mind please.
The un-official end of summer is here and we’re “celebrating” with the end of summer fruits and veggies. Celebrating means Mom always has to work through Labor Day weekend. But she’s celebrating with 8 hours of overtime. At home, and since someone whose name may start with the letter Q put bite marks on the peaches making them unappealing for photos, Dad thought he’d get Tessa in on the veggie celebration. As it turns out, she’s not a corn fan. Bet if we slathered these ears with butter she’d be all over those like . . . melted butter on corn!
Generally, we’re not big fans of September but knowing we’re closer to cooler, wetter weather than not, helps us get through the month. Are you a September lover?

I am not a corn fan either, but I love peaches, so I am with Quint on that one.
August ended with a deluge and widespread flooding. September has started similarly, but not quite as bad. After a very dry and hot Jun, July and August, nature has started to make amend. I just hope it doesn’t rain for the complete month. The good weather did give us a bumper crop of tomatoes though and I made about 15 litres of tomato and basil soup, and 20 small bags of sauce and various herbs that only need thawing to use.
We really don’t like the ‘ber’ months AT ALL.
It’s nice to know less heat is around the corner. In the swamps here, it probably won’t be “cold” until January, but it will be a bit less hot.
Well, we do generally like September weather better than the other -ber months’ weather…
