Zuzu On Duty

Zuzu’s not yet been with us a full year (end of August). It’s been fun and interesting to watch her personality come out since she’s no longer raising Niblets. She can be her own cat, answering to, well… almost nobody. She comes and goes from whichever room and napping spot she chooses.

And we’ve noticed a couple of daily routines. Ginger girls are notorious for being very routine driven, and Zuzu’s no different. From 11 a.m. until 2-ish p.m., it’s patrol time! (Zuzu is sitting on her welcome home quilt hand-crafted specifically for her by Stacy at StacyHurt.com)

Zuzu says: Once I got my little ones out from underfoot, it seemed to me this place was in dire need of order, a controlling presence, if you will. No, what this house needs… is an officer in charge! And I’m your girl!

And why not? I’ve proven I can handle discomfort and stress, and I multi-task exceptionally well. Additionally, I… wait a minute…

… do you hear that? Gotta go investigate something.

What a cutie she is. Do you have any troubles with the smoke from the fires ?

    • colehauscats says:

No smoke from all the fires here in Washington State (or Oregon just to the south either). We have west winds blowing east today. Looking forward to possible sprinkles on Sunday to help!

  17. Jack Bass says:

Zuzu’s dauther is no different. She inspects the whole house and garage twice daily. She found mice in the garage and now spends a large portion of the night there. She is very neat about the mice too. She dispatches them quickly and neatly stacks them by the door for inspection. We live deep in the forest and mice have long infested the garage where the litter box is. Talliah (ex-Robbie Nibblet) is, despite her dislike of mice, the sweetest most loving girl I’ve ever known. She is so sweet and patient, even the dog loves her. Thank you to Zuzu for raising such a beautiful little bundle of love, you are a great mom.

  18. spittythekitty says:

Aw, so great to have a report on a Niblet! You go, GirlNibletFormerlyRobbienowTalliah!

And Zuzu, anytime you’d like to teleport over and patrol MY house, I’ll bake a toona for you 😉

  19. We had NO idea that ginger girls were very routine driven! We’ll hafta tell our grandma, since their Emmy’s a ginger!
Our Maxie is, at least with his food! MOL!
