Ruby is just one of the many cats Viola gets along great with.

Tuesday, Viola celebrated her four-month birthday. She spent the day acting very needy and followed Mom around everywhere. Perhaps she knew today was to be her Spay Day… until all the weather people began insisting we’d get our first big snow of the winter… and sure enough, it’s snowing now (we don’t have an SUV and our small car can’t run chains). Even more snow is predicted tomorrow when we were to pick Viola back up. No way we’d get there and no way we’d leave her there until Monday!

So… her Spay Day has been temporarily postponed until the end of the month. Whew! Don’t worry, little Viola. You’ll truly be a big girl soon!

We’d like to thank you again for helping Viola and Zuzu with their Spay Day v-e-t costs a few months back by purchasing art from Quint. The dear heart continues to want to help his family and the cats at the shelter he was adopted from. His first collection of 2014, Early Spring Blossoms, is up now at his art shop, and guarantees to help chase away these long, winter blues. He’s pretty proud of this batch and thanks you for going to visit!

We see the Feliway right by the food station. Do you think it helps? Mom has used those on several occasions and is never sure they are doing any good. Lucky Viola…a little reprieve. Hope your weather doesn’t get too bad. Mom is going over to check out Quint’s art. She always finds something she likes. Have a great weekend. Thank you for noticing our Feliway diffuser! Yes, we really do think it helps. With Ruby, Maxx and Tessa staying in the same room and Viola too for most of the night, the Feliway (connected to a timer for 8 hours on and 16 hours off) seems to have taken the edge off any stress Ruby and Maxx felt with energetic and sometimes, troublesome Tessa becoming a resident. Plus, as an added bonus, it helped Tessa accept Viola because that looked like it was never going to happen! We give our experience with the diffuser a thumbs up!

  7. We can’t wait to see Quint’s spring collection. 🙂

pee ess…it looks like you have your feliway plugin on a timer. We’re curious as to why. We have the plugins all over our house and have them going all the time. Also, we wonder if having them by the food is a good idea. All we were told by our behaviorist is to not have them plugged in near our litter boxes.

Thank you for noticing and asking about our Feliway diffuser on a timer! It seemed to us the diffuser didn’t last terribly long, not as long as it says (about three weeks), and it also seemed as though it’s effects on certain kitties living in the same room lasted long after the diffuser was empty or unplugged (almost a day). So Mr. Colehaus plugged one into a timer on an 8 hour on, 16 hours off cycle and that’s worked wonderfully for everyone! The Feliway lasts longer and certain kitties still get along and are less stressed. We only have this one by the food station and agree, don’t put one near the litter boxes.

One issue we did discover recently – the diffuser core gets really warm when in use here, whether connected to a timer or not. Just something we noticed.

  8. It’s so nice to see that Ruby gets along with Miss Viola so well!

Quint, keep painting spring and it will get here soon enough… although when yours comes, keep painting cause ours will have to catch up with yours!

  17. Always wonderful to see Quint painting! We were very interested to see you using Feliway on a timer. When we were using it, we didn’t think it lasted long at all, and that would have extended its life quite a bit. Good thinking!

  18. Wow an artist! How cool,
And a big happy bday to!!!

Quint, Do you think you could get into portraits? Perhaps you could paint Viola before she gets all grown up? 😉

  20. Oui Oui says:

Oh, Viola is such a cutie! And we love her Manx tail and shape too! We stopped by to see Quint’s paintings and they look so nice on the colored paper. We were originally looking for dark colors since he was painting “Starry Night”, but those soft colors work very well! Good luck!

  21. Oh, can’t wait to see the spring blossom collection! Thanks for sharing on the Pet Parade!
