Questions.

Today is National Answer Your Cat’s Questions Day (who makes up these things?)! And while we had quite a number of questions today, we’re very short on answers. Maybe a family meeting is in order. Later, much later.

When are those new cats leaving? - 2014 © Colehaus Cats

When are those new cats leaving? – 2014 © Colehaus Cats

Maxx asks: When are those new cats leaving? ‘Cause I’m not terribly impressed and besides, they’re taking up space. Are they gone yet? How about now? Still here? Oh, look! There’s one. Why?

Why won't Dad let me into his office? - 2014 © Colehaus Cats

Why won’t Dad let me into his office? – 2014 © Colehaus Cats

Miss Newton wonders: Why won’t Dad let me into his office? It’s the only place I want to be as long as Dad is in there. I think I’d make a great ripping and shredding office cat! What’s an office without a cat? A cat-less office is what it is and that’s just wrong. Mom, don’t you think that’s wrong? Why would anyone even have such a thing? Sometimes I just don’t understand this world.

Why isn't it sunny all the time? - 2014 © Colehaus Cats

Why isn’t it sunny all the time? – 2014 © Colehaus Cats

Pia wants to know: Why isn’t it sunny all the time? A girl needs sun on her furs and you know, I gots lots of furs! Without sun, I might get cold or worse; moldy. Mom, make it be sunny all day! Don’t tell me you can’t because you can do everything! Please? No? Okay, how about I lay on you while you’re at the computer? Okay?

Why can't our food taste like Greenies treats? - 2014 © Colehaus Cats

Why can’t our food taste like Greenies treats? – 2014 © Colehaus Cats

Quint asks: Why can’t our food taste like Greenies treats? Why can’t all food taste like Greenies treats? That’s the best flavor ever invented. Surely, everyone knows this. There’s no need to advertise this or that food flavor. Who needs savory salmon, beefy burger or Hawaiian pizza when they can have Greenies? Why not cut to the chase and make everything taste like Greenies? Roasted Chicken flavor, in particular if you must know because I must put the bitey to the birds. Speaking of which, isn’t it time for another treat? Have I mentioned Greenies lately?

Why does that little cat have to get her smell on everything? - 2014 © Colehaus Cats

Why does that little cat have to get her smell on everything? – 2014 © Colehaus Cats

Tessa demands to know: Why does that little cat have to get her smell on everything? I can’t take two steps in this house without that… that… that walking peanut’s smell here, there, everywhere! It’s just wrong and I want to know why it has to be that way. I’m waiting.

  1. Rene S says:

LOL, great questions, you guys. Maybe your people don’t have answers, but ours didn’t even know this day existed!

  2. Fuzzy Tales says:

Those are all brilliant questions…We’d like to see your humans try to come up with semi-intelligent, logical answers. Ha!

  3. We’d like to know why it isn’t sunny all the time too – our Mum doesn’t know why – does your Mom?
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx

  4. da tabbies o trout towne says:

Pia! Your expression in that photo was priceless!
You all came up with very sound questions. Now hopefully your hoomans will give you favourable answers you so justly deserve! 🙂

  6. Angel Abby says:

All of you came up with some great questions and we hope your Mom and Dad were able to come up with some good answers! MOL

  7. Toby & Leia says:

Oh my goodness, so many questions! We hope your Mom and Dad give you some very good answers.

  8. Good luck to your humans answering those very good and pertinent questions. Cats want to know!

  9. Kitties Blue says:

This was a meowvolous post with very though-provoking questions. We think it is so funny that Pia thinks she might get moldy. We have been asking all day why we can’t go out ’cause we have oodles of sun. Mom says 16F is too cold for the catio? So our other question of the day is: Why don’t you buy us a heater for the catio? Purrs and paw-pats, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

  10. Maxx: your mom and dad have a disease called “acumualottatabbiesitis”. We’re sorry to say, there is no cure.
Miss Newton: We don’t know why, it IS wrong, and our dad won’t let us in either (unless we sneak in…)
Pia: Like us, it has something to do with living near some line called the 45th Parallel. Apparently during parts of the year, the sun is afraid to cross the line… Dexter said something about “basking in the glow of his love…” but we prefer sunpuddles…
Quint: Dad started to say “blah, blah, blah, marketing…” Sorry, we stopped listening cause mom got out the Greenies…
Tessa: Don’t worry, that “new cat smell” will fade and then you can get a pine tree to hang up from the cat tree…

    Hope these answers helped!

  11. those are very good questions….your mom will be stumped for days 🙂

  12. Sparkle says:

I had my human answer reader’s questions – and there were a BUNCH! I kept her busy!

  13. Steve Cole says:

Dad provides a pass at (likely unpopular) answers:

Maxx: Those kitties aren’t going anywhere, but they will likely spend more time outside “your” room than they are today. You know how we are about providing homes for those that don’t have them…I suggest you grow more comfortable with that.

Newton: I would love to have you in “my office” more frequently, but that would absolutely require ZERO damage to certain contents within. Right now, we can’t count on that. If we can grow in the direction, we can see what we can do.

Pia: I’m sorry we can’t control the weather, but this is the worst time for the sun. While I know that time can be a challenge for Ginger Princesses to understand, this will be less of an issue eventually. Please try to trust us on that one.

Quint: If everything tasted like Greenies treats, then Greenies treats wouldn’t be so special. I know that doesn’t make sense, but it’s just the way it is…and I’m betting that Mom’s given you some Greenies treats to enjoy.

Tessa: She’s just a baby…why do YOU have to get that particular smell of yours on everything? We’re going to expect you to correct that before we ask her to.

To all of you: Please don’t hate me for my attempted answers. I love each of you and just want all of you to be happy with each other and with mom and I.

    Love,
    Dad

  14. BOL what will the humans say?? Methinks they need to get their thinking caps on if they can find them? Well done clever kitties. Have a wonderful Wednesday.
    Best wishes Molly

  15. Whoa! Dad tried to answer. I was wondering why TW was the only human to answer. Very sincere answers but, sadly, wrong answers just the same.

    • Steve Cole says:

…admittedly, those were awfully human and terribly naive answers. Today I’d like to clarify what I understand our kitties heard:

Maxx: “Your room will be vacated for you.”

Newton: “I would love to have you in my office all of the time. ZERO exceptions.”

Pia: “We will solve this for you. Trust us. It will be sunny all the time.”

Quint: “Mom will give you more Greenies treats, AND we will find you something even better!”

Tessa: “YOUR special smell is better than everyone’s and we thank you for your special markings. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!”

All: “We’re so happy to have all of you here and we love you just the way you are.”

      Thanks Mom and Dad!!

  16. Hey, that’s the BEST question EVER: Why isn’t it sunny all the time???

  17. Pia – it IS sunny all the time, you just need to come and live in Australia. 🙂

  18. Paula says:

    good questions.

  19. We loved all your questions…’specially why isn’t it sunny all the time and why our foods can’t taste like greenies. We wonder that too.

  20. meowmeowmans says:

Those are some very astute questions, Colehaus Cats! We’re loving Pia’s question most of all … we are ready for spring already. 🙂

We wanted to let you know we received our beautiful calendar with Quint on the cover. And we were SO excited to see that he pawtographed it! It’s hanging in our dad’s office now. The only sad part is that he has to take it off the wall to look at the cover boy. 🙂

    Thank you, dear friends.

    Hugs and headbonks,

Moosey, Gracie and Zoe (and Mom Tracey and Dad Kevin, too)

    • colehauscats says:

Yippee for getting your calendar! Quint wouldn’t hear of sending it off without pawtographing it first! He hopes you enjoy it! Extra purrs and comforting pats to Moosey.

  21. Great questions and how cool that your Dad answered them!!

  22. Clooney says:

We got a chuckle out of the new cats taking up space (good one Maxx) and we love Pia’s question…we would love sun all the time too! Great questions kitties!

  23. Marg says:

Now those are some mighty good questions. We have some of the same questions. There are three new cats in here and why or why do they need to be HERE . Anyway, we really enjoyed your questions. Well done.

  24. Great questions ! We enjoy it, and we could have had some same questions if mum didn’t miss the Cat’s Question Day (shame on her !). Purrs

  25. speedyrabbit says:

  26. Furry good questions !
Pia I hope you had some sun on your fur !
